Orbis Max releases "Selling The Van"

Continuing their string of 2023 singles, Orbis Max released the video for "Selling The Van" on July 7. This track features special guests Dennis George, Tim Izzard, Dan Pavelich from the band The Click Beetles, and guitarist Nigel Winfield from the band Emperor Penguin.

Orbis Max (Orbis 2.0) is a songwriting/recording collective located in Liverpool, U.K.; Dallas, TX.; San Diego, CA.; and Red Bank, NJ. All recordings were done via email with all the participants, sending their tracks to San Diego for the final mix.

This track was written by DW Dunphy and features vocals by DW Dunphy, Dan Pavelich, Dennis George, and Tim Izzard; guitars by Nigel Winfield and Don Baake (guitars and mixing); Bruce Walker on keyboards; Craig Carlstrom on bass; and Dick Winters on drums. The track was produced by DW Dunphy, Don Baake, & Craig Carlstrom.

The video states: "Dedicated to all the independent musicians who - literally and figuratively - are keeping their vans on the road." The band states, "We've all had that awkward conversation with ourselves as creators - Am I kidding myself? Is this a world that will let me in or should I give this up and seek out one that will? Maybe advanced accounting?"

I'm thinking bout selling the van / I just can't get back on the road again / To one more empty room / It's something that I can't stand

I'm thinking bout selling the kit / And spending more time with the wife and kid / Get myself a 9 to 5 / Do the work my dad did

Though we never changed / anybody's minds / it never felt like wasted time

But I've started thinking / weighing the pros and cons / has our time come and gone
