Music at Bunker Hill Announces 17th Season

(SEWELL, NJ) -- Entering its 17th season, Music at Bunker Hill continues its mission of bringing great performers to the heart of Southern New Jersey. Grammy-winning Imani Winds opens the series on October 6, 2024 with The French Connection, consisting of works by Blanchet, Françaix, Shifrin, Coleman, Stravinsky. Returning favorite Escher Quartet performs works by Mozart, Price, and Ravel on October 20. Appearing for their first time in their series, American Brass Quintet, founded in 1960 and in residence at Juilliard since 1987, performs on November 10 with works spanning five centuries.

Continuing their tradition of presenting concerts that are appealing, accessible and affordable to music lovers in the greater Delaware Valley, Quintessential Quintets returns performing works by Mozart and Dvořák on March 30. The Golka-Park-Speltz Trio appears on April 6 with Bloch, Beethoven and Dvořák. Following last season’s Ukrainian-focused Concert for Peace, violinist Solomiya Ivakhiv and friends perform Ukrainian Masterworks and the Franck Quintet on May 18.

Concerts are held on Sundays at 3:00pm at Bunker Hill Presbyterian Church, 330 Greentree Road, Sewell, NJ. Phone (856) 494-6077. Tickets are $30 for adults and seniors, $5 for students with ID. More information is available at www.musicatbunkerhill.org.

This program is made possible in part by funding from The Gloucester County Cultural and Heritage Commission at Rowan College of South Jersey, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State and the National Endowment for the Arts.

MORE NEWS

Each year, Makin Waves picks the 12 independent New Jersey bands who made the most waves. That means extensive touring in support of a new LP or EP, preferably internationally; professional quality narrative videos; singles that garnered broadcast and online radio play (since Spotify rips artists off, I don't really care about streams); national press, and other awards. Note that the Dirty Jersey Dozen are presented in alphabetical order. To get a sense of pecking order, please check out the 26th Annual Makin Waves Awards, as well as the Makin Waves Top 10 Jersey Indie Albums and Makin Waves Top 10 Jersey Indie Songs.
