Melody Trucks & Fitzkee Brothers Band To Headline Rootsapalooza at The Wonder Bar

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Acclaimed Southern Roots-rock vocalist and percussionist Melody Trucks is bringing her musical buddies The Fitzkee Brothers Band on the road with her for the Road to Roots 2024 Tour, performing locally as part of Rootsapalooza at Wonder Bar on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 7:30pm. The lineup also includes Des & the Swagmatics, Matt O'Ree Band, Ryan Gregg & Friends, and a Roots Rock Revival All Star Jam.

Come together with Melody and her band for a night of American Roots music, drawing inspiration from legendary bands such as The Allman Brothers, The Grateful Dead, The Band, and other iconic musical influences.

Tickets are $17 and available for purchase online. The Wonder Bar is located at 1213 Ocean Avenue in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The show is open to all 18 and up.

Melody Trucks is a talented vocalist and percussionist who has performed in front of thousands at major music festivals including Peach Fest, Suwannee Rising and Hulaween.  As the daughter of the late Butch Trucks (founding co-drummer of the Allman Brothers Band), Melody has been surrounded by music her entire life - first picking up flute at age seven. By the time she entered high school, Trucks began exploring the saxophone, clarinet and oboe -- performing in the Concert Band at competition level. It was not until college, when Melody was studying Ethnomusicology, that she found her true love – percussion. Honing her craft, she deeply immersed herself in Samba (Brazilian) and Balinese Gamelan (Bali) studies for the last five years.

In 2017 she was inspired to form the Melody Trucks Band. She released the album “Walking in Gratitude” in 2019, featuring the critically-acclaimed song “Freight Train” in honor of her late father. Since then, Melody has decided to pursue her solo career -- carrying on her family’s legacy with her skillful percussion work, songbird vocals and dynamic stage presence that have earned her a devoted following music of fans.

As a solo artist Melody can be found paving the way for generations to come, collaborating with unique music family line-ups touring nationally. She sits on the Board of “Roots Rock Revival” and is also the Ambassador to the “Butch Trucks Scholarship Fund,” and has since launched “Road to Roots”, a collaborative effort to bring exceptionally talented young musicians on the road with her to help break them into the music scene in a protected environment while cultivating their own craft and acclimating them to tour life.

Melody reprised her role again in 2023 as a Special Guest on some of the heralded Allman Betts Family Revival shows.
