(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- The new Atlantic City music festival Frantic City has shared details of the event’s official opening night party on Friday, September 23 at Bourré at 8:00pm. Performers include Samiam, who will also perform the next day at the main event, as well as New Jersey natives The Ergs and Night Birds. The night will be hosted by comedian Natalie Cuomo.
Speaking on the event, the festival’s co-creator and organizer Joe HoldFast stated: “Samiam, The Ergs, and NightBirds with MC/Comedian Natalie Cuomo at Bourre AC makes this a true weekender. At the heart of underground music is intimate shows, what better way to start off the weekend?”
Samiam are a post punk/indie rock institution. Forming in Berkeley, California, almost three decades ago, the group molded their unique style playing early on with bands like Jawbreaker, Seaweed, Green Day and Bad Religion. Over the years, they had mainstream radio play with songs like “Capsized” and “She Found You”, released eight full-length albums and continue to play to passionate fans all over the world. Started by Jason Beebout (vocals) and Sergie Loobkoff (guitar) in 1988, the band’s current lineup also features longtime guitarist/vocalist Sean Kennerly as well as more recent additions of bassist Chad Darby and drummer Colin Brooks. They have refined their brand of post-hardcore/alternative/emo/indie rock over the years and are just as powerful now as they were during their heyday in the late nineties. If anything, they sound more relevant than ever before.
Natalie Cuomo is a stand up comedian born and raised in Queens, NY. She has been featured in Time Out NY, NY Magazine, Metal Injection, and Hussy Magazine for her work as a comedian. Natalie was featured as the cover girl of Stag Magazine. Natalie is the host of the podcast Help! with Natalie Cuomo. She has performed at New York Comedy Festival, Skankfest South, Idaho Comedy Festival and Laugh Riot Grrrl Festival in Los Angeles. She is a frequent guest on Sirius XM. Natalie is a regular contributor to Inked Magazine. Her work can be found in the July & Sept ‘21 issues.
