New Jersey outfit Cut The Kids In Half have shared their second-ever single "A Good Man Died," a tense, searing track rife with vocal control and creative vision beyond the band's teenage years, along with an official video that shows off their DIY roots and live prowess.

A duo named after Radiohead’s “Morning Bell,” brothers Charlie and Jack Silver (ages 17 and 18 respectively) are a compelling young band cutting their teeth the old-fashioned way: playing gig after gig on their local scene. Following their 2022 single “The Quiet Life of August,” it’s clear that “A Good Man Died” is the fruit of a season of artistic growth, as vulnerability collides with catchy riffs.

“‘A Good Man Died’ was born out of a horribly toxic relationship,” says vocalist and lyricist Jack Silver. “It’s about two people who have given up but are too attached and afraid to make their escapes. It’s an intense glimpse into a love story approaching the edge of a cliff."

The release marks the beginning of a raw yet focused artistic era, one that mixes grit with anguished, honest songwriting. As they preview their debut LP, listeners can expect a record filled with collaboration and masterful storytelling. The brothers’ teenage perspective adds sensitivity to their alt-rock sound, edgy but not jaded—their lyrics read like despair, but their songs sound like hope.

You can follow the band on Instagram, TikTok, Spotify, and YouTube.
