(AUSTIN, TX) -- New Jersey rocker, Bobby Mahoney, is going to the 2024 South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival in Austin, TX. Mahoney will be playing a full band show at The Continental Club on March 16th as part of The Wicked Cool Records Review! showcase presented by Stevie Van Zandt's (E Street Band, The Sopranos, Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul) Underground Garage and Hard Rock at 8:00pm.

This marks the band’s first appearance at the landmark festival. Mahoney asserts that he is “honored that our Austin debut is a SXSW showcase. We are excited to get a taste of the culture and are looking forward to catching other artists (and some great food) while we are in town!“

Describing his sound as “a healthy mix of indie and alternative rock with a fresh twist,” Mahoney is ready to show Texas what New Jersey has to offer. No stranger to the stage, Mahoney has spent the last decade honing his live performance. His prowess has not gone unnoticed, prompting Stevie Van Zandt’s Wicked Cool Records to include him in their SXSW showcase, along with The Cocktail Slippers, Slim Jim Phantom & The Wildcats, Soraia, The Chesterfield Kings, and The Jellybricks.

Over the course of his illustrious career, Mahoney has shared the stage with Bon Jovi, Against Me!, Frank Turner, and many fantastic local bands. Each of these experiences contribute to his onstage energy and songwriting ability. Mahoney attributes his attitude to some advice he received growing up, “When I was a kid, my friend, Matt Hogan, told me to play every show like we are playing Madison Square Garden, and we have really taken that advice to heart. We approach every show as a chance to improve, to learn, and to strengthen our bonds within ourselves and our audiences.” Notably, in 2022, Mahoney played the official Gaslight Anthem after-party in Asbury Park, NJ.

Always inspired by the legendary New Jersey musicians he grew up with, Mahoney played Asbury Park’s famed venue, The Stone Pony in 2010, and started his first band in 2011. Over the years, he has released six albums, most recently the 2020 EP, We Go On. He has done all of this before hitting 30 years old, and is just getting started. 2024 will be a big year for Mahoney, so make sure to keep up with what he has in store.
