Bob Burger to Release "The Domino Effect"

Bob Burger's latest solo album The Domino Effect will be released by JEM Records on July 1, 2022. This is his first solo release since The Day After in 2012. The album includes 11 new original alternative rock tracks that somewhat depart from The Weeklings sound, following in the style of Burger's earlier solo albums on the Big Brave Music label.  This will also be the first JEM release of Burger's solo work, although JEM has already released a series of power pop albums by The Weeklings, of which Burger is a founding member.

The rough theme of the album is about how each event in life, becomes a starting point and influences each succeeding event. The album title reflects how "Things happen to a person early in life that start the dominoes tumbling. I realized how certain experiences influenced my decisions that followed those experiences, and those decisions influenced later decisions. If not for meeting a particular person, or participating in an event, everything that followed would have been different. It takes a while to appreciate how far reaching those tentacles are," said Bob Burger.

The LP has a modern alternative sound as filtered through classic rock artist influences such as The Beatles, Tom Petty, Elvis Costello, Steely Dan, etc. The music continues the work of Burger's four previous solo records, with perhaps a little more ‘concept' behind it. "Obviously, each time you make a record, your head is in a different place," explained Burger. "I like to think that each album is a positive progression from the last. I actually started this project a few years ago, but put it aside to concentrate on The Weeklings. Then, like a lot of musicians, I had some extra time on my hands owing to the pandemic, which time I used to complete this one."

The LP features some of Bob's close friends from the New York/New Jersey music scene including: Jimmy Leahey (electric guitar), Jerry Gaskill (drums), Lisa Sherman (background vocals), Arne Wendt (keyboards). John Merjave (guitars) and Plink Giglio (keyboards). Burger is on vocals, guitars, bass, keys and loops.

In addition to The Weeklings, Bob's live performances include his work with his own "Ever Changing Band", as well as a member of Max Weinberg's Jukebox with which he frequently tours around the U.S.
