Fern (Leah Eisele) and Wilbur (Alexander Martucci) in Charlotte's Web at Bordentown Regional High School
(BORDENTOWN, NJ) -- Charlotte’s Web, the play for children based on the classic book by E. B. White, will be presented at the Bordentown Performing Arts Center on Friday, April 11th at 6:30pm and Saturday, April 12th at 2:00pm. This adaptation by Joseph Robinette tells the classic tale of friendship between a young pig and a caring, intelligent spider.
An affectionate pig named Wilbur (played by sophomore Alex Martucci) befriends Charlotte the spider (played by freshman Persephone Borsuk), who lives in the rafters above his pen. In this story of friendship, hardship, and the passing of time, E.B. White reminds us to open our eyes to the wonder and miracle often found in the simplest of things.
The Bordentown Regional High School cast also includes Brynn Bowyer, Michael Burns, Gabriella Cuccia, Angela DeIeso, Leah Eisele, Rylie Evans, John Heitzenroeder, Madelyn Jones, Samantha Karolkiewicz, Emilie Kelly, Alicia Kitner, Ansley Magby, Wren Magby, Ceilidh Manigrasso, Emmary McLaughlin, Anthony Nami, Adam Pollard, Arianaliz Rios, Jayde Rios, Ellis Rominiecki, River Skalski and Peyton Todaro. This production is directed by senior Genevieve Schenone.
Tickets are $5, and can be purchased in advance at www.seatyourself.biz/brhs. Tickets will also be sold at the door. All proceeds go toward the BRHS Theatre Club Scholarship Fund. The Bordentown Performing Arts Center is attached to Bordentown Regional High School, and is located at 318 Ward Avenue in Bordentown, New Jersey.
This play is suggested for children ages six through ten, and will be presented by the award-winning Bordentown Regional High School Theatre Club. The performance will be followed by cookies and milk with the cast in the cafeteria.
The BRHS Theatre Club will also host their 2025 Parents' Night Out on Friday, April 11th. From 6:00pm-9:00pm, children will enjoy a live performance of the play Charlotte’s Web and snacks and games after the performance with the cast. Bordentown Regional High School’s theatre program was awarded the prestigious Greater Philadelphia Cappie Award for Outstanding Musical in 2012 for Legally Blonde and was nominated for Outstanding Musical for last year's production of The Addams Family. For more than a decade, the Greater Philadelphia Cappie Awards have honored BRHS Theatre performances with seventy-three nominations and eighteen awards. The theatrical performances of BRHS have also been honored with numerous awards and nominations from the New Jersey State Thespian Festival and the New Jersey Theatre Night Awards.
