Wednesday, March 26 - Lizzie Rose Music Room presents bluesman Selwyn Birchwood. (TUCKERTON, NJ) -- Award-winning Florida bluesman Selwyn Birchwood will perform live at the Lizzie Rose Music Room in Tuckerton on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Birchwood's 2023 album, Exorcist, is his fourth Alligator Records release. The young guitarist, lap steel player, songwriter and vocalist sets a course for the future of the blues with his visionary, original music. He calls it "Electric Swamp Funkin’ Blues," an intoxicating mix of deep blues, blistering, psychedelic-tinged rock, booty-shaking funk and sweet Southern soul, played and sung with fire-and-brimstone fervor.

Thursday, March 27 - 'On Banjo' with Alison Brown. There was a time when I would have told you that my knowledge of the banjo was limited to whom I considered one of the most famous banjo players, who also happens to be my favorite musical amphibian, Mr. Kermit The Frog. "The Rainbow Connection" a la "The Muppet Movie" as performed by the little green dude, the world's greatest producer, was my first introduction to the string instrument and will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Algonquin Arts Theatre presents "Footloose". (MANASQUAN, NJ) -- Algonquin Arts Theatre is proud to announce the cast and creative team for its latest musical, Footloose. State Theatre New Jersey presents "Dear Evan Hansen". (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents the North American tour of the Tony® and Grammy®-winning Best Musical sensation, Dear Evan Hansen for five performances from March 28-30, 2025. Atlantic City Ballet Brings Carl Orff's Masterpiece 'Carmina Burana' to New Jersey. A performance of Carl Orff's masterful piece "Carmina Burana" will feature a collaboration between the Atlantic City Ballet, the Ocean City POPS, and The Greater South Jersey Chorus, showcasing a blend of dance and music. This performance is part of the ballet's 42nd season and will take place in two New Jersey locations, the Pfleeger Concert Hall at Rowan University in Glassboro on Friday, March 28, 2025, 7:30 p.m., and the mainstage at Stockton University’s Performing Arts Center in Galloway on Saturday, March 29, 2025, 7:30 p.m. Atlantic City Ballet's staging of "Carmina Burana" at multiple places highlights the company's commitment to bringing ballet to diverse audiences in the Garden State.

Sunday, March 30 - Jersey Arts Podcast: Jonatha Brooke and Joyous Grief. Jonatha Brooke has a voice to soothe your soul, and the lyrics to nurture it. Tuesday, March 25 - Matisyahu to Play Two Nights at Debonair Music Hall with Duvbear opening. (TEANECK, NJ) -- Black Box Studios, The Elated System & Debonair Music Hall presents two special nights with Matisyahu, ft. opener Duvbear, at Debonair Music Hall on March 25-26, 2025. Wednesday, March 26 - Dystopia Tonight presents "24-Hour (Yes, Really) Benefit Stream to End MS" on March 26-27. As National MS Awareness Month is happening this month, March, Dystopia Tonight with John Poveromo is once again stepping up to make a difference. Saturday, March 29 - SOPAC presents George Porter, Jr. & Runnin' Pardners. (SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- George Porter, Jr. & Runnin' Pardners come to the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 7:30pm. George is an award-winning bassist, songwriter, and vocalist. He is a founding member of New Orleans' seminal funk band The Meters and widely recognized as one of the greatest bass players of all time.

Saturday, March 29 - The Newton Theatre presents Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. (NEWTON, NJ) -- Big Bad Voodoo Daddy comes to The Newton Theatre on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 8:00pm. Sunday, March 30 - Music at Bunker Hill presents Quintessential Quintets. (SEWELL, NJ) -- Continuing Music at Bunker Hill's mission of bringing great performers to the heart of Southern New Jersey, Quintessential Quintets appears on Sunday, March 30, 2025 with works by Mozart and Dvorak. "The Jonathan Larson Project" to Have World Premiere in NYC. (NEW YORK, NY) -- Richard Frankel, Tom Viertel, Steven Baruch, and Marc Routh proudly announce the world premiere of The Jonathan Larson Project, a new musical that celebrates the dozens of unheard songs, unfinished and unproduced musicals, and pop songs found in files and boxes when the visionary writer of RENT died suddenly at the age of 35 in 1996. Conceived by Jennifer Ashley Tepper and directed by John Simpkins, The Jonathan Larson Project features more than 20 undiscovered songs by the Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning writer.

Premiere Stages at Kean University Announces 2025 Bauer Boucher Playwriting Award Winners. (UNION, NJ) -- Premiere Stages, the professional theatre company in residence at Kean University, has named Kean University student Tyler Sautner (Class of '25) and alumna Megan Tobias (Class of '19) as the winners of the 2025 Bauer Boucher Playwriting Awards, named for longtime donors W. John Bauer and Nancy Boucher. Both winners received a cash prize and a one-day developmental reading of their plays with a professional cast and director.

Speranza Theatre Company presents "In Her Footsteps" - a friendly, immersive theatre experience. (JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Step into history with In Her Footsteps, a fun, family-friendly, immersive theatrical experience that brings great women from the past to life through dynamic performances, multimedia displays, and hands-on activities. Speranza Theatre Company presents In Her Footsteps weekends from March 1-30, 2025 at the Museum of Jersey City History.

Luna Stage presents "A Case for the Existence of God" and "Trich" - first time with two plays in rep simultaneously. (WEST ORANGE, NJ) -- For the first time ever, Luna Stage presents two plays simultaneously on its two stages, re-opening Trich in Luna 2 on March 8, while the NY Drama Critics' Circle award-winner for Best Play, A Case for the Existence of God plays through March 16, 2025 on the MainStage. SoHo Playhouse presents the World Premiere of "Gloaming, Nowhere". (NEW YORK, NY) -- SoHo Playhouse presents the world premiere of Gloaming, Nowhere, created and performed by J.S. The Barn Theatre presents "Of Mice and Men". (MONTVILLE, NJ) -- The Barn Theatre presents Of Mice and Men from weekends from March 14-30, 2025. This is a stage adaptation of the 1937 novel by American author John Steinbeck. The production is directed by Mark Phelan.

Ritz Theatre Company presents "Julius Caesar". (HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- The Ritz Theatre Company is presenting Julius Caesar weekends from March 14-30, 2025. This is one of William Shakespeare's most enduringly popular and influential works. "Beware the Ides of March!"

Bergen County Players presents "Things My Mother Taught Me". (ORADELL, NJ) -- Love, laughter, and a few moving boxes set the stage for Things My Mother Taught Me, a charming, engaging comedy by Katherine DiSavino, presented by Bergen County Players, one of America's longest-running little theater companies. The show opens on Saturday, March 15, and runs through Saturday, April 5, 2025 at the Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell.

The League of Live Stream Theater offers Stream of sold out "Beckett Briefs". Players Guild of Leonia presents "The Normal Heart". (LEONIA, NJ) -- The Players Guild of Leonia presents The Normal Heart by Larry Kramer weekends from March 21 through April 6, 2025. Larry Kramer's largely autobiographical play depicts the rise of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in New York City from 1981–1984. The production is directed by Claudia MacDermott.

Jersey City Theater Center and Motherfather Productions present "Crimes of the Heart". (JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Jersey City Theater Center and Motherfather Productions present a raw and imaginative exploration of Crimes of the Heart - Beth Henley's Pulitzer Prize-winning play about the family drama of the Magrath sisters. Performances take place across two weekends from March 21-30, 2025.

Thank You 5 Productions presents "Kinky Boots" at Kelsey Theatre. (WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- A struggling maker of men's shoes reverses his fortunes when he transforms his footwear from functional to fabulous with the help of an entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos in the hilarious musical Kinky Boots for four evening and two afternoon performances at the Kelsey Theatre, March 21-30, 2025 on Mercer County Community College's West Windsor Campus.

New Jersey Theatre Alliance to Hold the 2025 Combined Auditions March 24-25. (HILLSIDE, NJ) -- New Jersey Theatre Alliance (NJTA), the service organization for the state and region’s 42 professional theatres, will hold auditions in Enlow Recital Hall on the campus of Kean University in Hillside, NJ on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 10:00am-5:00pm for Equity performers, and Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 10:00am-5:00pm for Non-Equity performers. This is a fantastic opportunity to be seen by multiple theatres at once. Representatives from their member theatres will follow up with actors directly if they are interested in working with them.

Bristol Riverside Theatre presents "In The Heights" by Lin-Manuel Miranda. (PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- The electrifying rhythms of Washington Heights pulse through Bristol Riverside Theatre (BRT) as Lin-Manuel Miranda's groundbreaking musical, a genre-bending blend of hip-hop, salsa, merengue, and soul, In the Heights, takes the stage March 25 through April 27, 2025. BRT's production is directed by the visionary Carlos Armesto, returning to BRT following his sensory-driven production Odd Man Out in 2023. This season, Armesto brings the beloved hit musical set on the vibrant streets of New York to the stage. BRT co-producers Amy and Ken Kaissar present the first large-scale production since the newly renovated space reopened.

RVCC presents "Bars, Apartments and Batman" - A Performing Arts Showcase featuring One-Acts and Extended Scenes. (BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- Raritan Valley Community College's Arts & Design department will stage a Performing Arts Showcase, Bars, Apartments and Batman, March 26-28, 2025 at 7:00pm each night. The showcase, which is free of charge and open to the public, will be presented in the Welpe Theatre at the College's Branchburg campus.

Middlesex College presents "Rough Magic" by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. (EDISON, NJ) -- Middlesex College Visual, Performing and Media Arts presents Rough Magic by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa across two weekends from March 27 to April 4, 2025. Transplanting characters from The Tempest to present-day New York, Rough Magic is a Shakespearean action-adventure-fantasy in the tradition of Harry Potter and The X-Men.

WHATCo presents "Class of 2005: A Killer Reunion" for their annual murder mystery fundraiser. (KEARNY, NJ) -- The West Hudson Arts & Theater Company (WHATCo) annual murder mystery dinner theater experience returns with the original production of Class of 2005: A Killer Reunion, once again written by award-winning local playwright and author Allyssa Hynes. This year performances of this annual WHATCo fundraiser are Friday & Saturday, March 28 and 29 at the American Legion Post 99 (314 Belgrove Drive) in Kearny.

Music Mountain Theatre presents "Ride the Cyclone". (LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- Music Mountain Theatre presents Ride the Cyclone weekends from March 28 to April 13, 2025. In this hilarious and outlandish story, the lives of six teenagers from a Canadian chamber choir are cut short in a freak accident aboard a roller coaster.

Gateway Playhouse to hold auditions for "South Pacific". (SOMERS POINT, NJ) -- Gateway Playhouse in Somers Point will hold auditions for its first musical of 2025, South Pacific, by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. 2025 Garden State Film Festival Takes Place March 27-30. The 23rd Annual Garden State Film Festival takes place March 27-30, 2025 in both Cranford and Asbury Park. The festival includes screenings, filmmaker breakfast & panel discussions, a table read of the screenplay competition winner, and the annual awards banquet.

Thursday, March 27 - Art House Productions and Puppet Heap present a Screening of Short Films Narrated by The Heap. (JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Art House Productions and Puppet Heap are thrilled to announce The Heap at Art House, a screening of short films narrated by The Heap. On Thursday, March 27, 2025, Puppet Heap will present a series of short films featuring their puppets, followed by a Q&A with Puppet Heap founder Paul Andrejco. This event is open to all ages. Saturday, March 29 - Garden State Film Festival to Screen "The Waiting Game". Friday, March 28 - Lightwire Theater presents "Moon Mouse: A Space Odyssey" at RVCC.
