The Summit Playhouse presents "Fun Home"

originally published: 03/23/2025

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- The Summit Playhouse presents Fun Home by Alison Bechdel, Jeanine Tesori, and Lisa Kron weekends from April 25 through May 10, 2025. In this groundbreaking and deeply personal musical, Alison Bechdel revisits her past to make sense of her father’s secrets and her own journey to self-discovery.

Through a haunting and heartwarming score, the story unfolds in a series of powerful vignettes—flashing between childhood innocence, college revelations, and the present-day artist searching for truth. With humor, heartbreak, and a soundtrack that lingers long after the curtain falls, Fun Home invites you into the family-run funeral home where Alison grew up—where the answers aren’t always easy, but the journey is unforgettable.

The production is Directed by Lynn Polan with Musical Direction by Joe Devico and Choreography by Christine Talarico.

The cast includes Ella Chamis (Alison), Avamichelina Hodgens (Medium Alison), Emily Hughes (Small Alison), Dan Maceyak (Bruce), Rebecca Iacovitti (Helen), Travis Millman (Christian), Caleb Finkel (John), Jade Schaffer (Joan), and Luke Basile (Roy/Pete/Mark/ Bobby Jeremy).

Performances take place Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm. Adult Tickets-$30, Senior and Student Tickets-$25. Tickets are available for purchase online. The Summit Playhouse is located at 10 New England Avenue in Summit, New Jersey.
