(PLAINFIELD, NJ) -- Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center presents the 2025 New Jersey One Act Play Festival, featuring an exciting lineup of original works by New Jersey playwrights. The festival will take place April 4-6, 2025, at the duCret Center of Art.

The festival will showcase a selection of world-premiere one-act comedies, offering audiences a unique opportunity to experience fresh, innovative storytelling from talented local playwrights. Each play explores the theme of chance meetings—whether it's a mother of a toddler bonding over potty training with a bartender, a skeptical man encountering an unexpected truth from a psychic, or a high school teachers' book club mirroring the drama of their students.

The plays were written by Tom Cavanaugh, CC Coyne, Laura Gaspari, Dan Mauer, and Susan Cain McQuilkin.

Performances take place Friday, April 4 at 8:00pm; Saturday, April 5 at 8:00pm; and Sunday, April 6 at 3:00pm at the duCret Center of Art (1030 Central Avenue) in Plainfield, New Jersey. Tickets for the festival are general admission and available for purchase online or at the door.

Dragonfly’s one-act festivals have been recognized for their excellence, receiving nominations for New Jersey Perry Awards in past years. The 2025 festival continues this tradition with plays directed by Dragonfly regulars Mimi B. Francis, Catherine LaMoreaux, Liz Rapelye, Annick Vasquez, and Mead Winters.
