(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- Step into spring with a fascinating author talk with New York Times bestselling author Jodi Picoult about her newest novel, By Any Other Name. This free program will take place virtually on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. The event begins at 7:00pm.
By Any Other Name tells the story of two women, centuries apart who are both forced to hide behind another name. In 1581, playwright Emilia Bassano creates dramatic masterpieces for the stage, paying a man for use of his name, while writing her own out of history. In the present, playwright Melinda Green has written a work inspired by Bassano, her Elizabethan ancestor, however, the playing field is still not level for women in theater. Would Melinda also be willing to forfeit her credit as author just for a chance to see her work performed?
Jodi Picoult is the New York Times bestselling author of 29 novels, including My Sister’s Keeper, Mad Honey, Small Great Things, Nineteen Minutes and The Pact.
