Holmdel Theatre Company presents a reading of "Kafka in Brooklyn" by Domenick Danza

(HOLMDEL, NJ) -- Holmdel Theatre Company presents a reading of Kafka in Brooklyn by Domenick Danza on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 7:00pm. This adaptation of Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis takes place in present day Brooklyn, NY.  There is a $5 suggested donation.

When Greg wakes up unable to move, he realizes the change that has taken place in his body is the result of years of compromising and giving up on his dreams.  The expectations at his job are overwhelming.  His wife, Bonnie, is focused on her own job responsibilities and family’s financial crisis.  His friend, Buddy, tries to help, but ends up enabling Greg’s condition to progress to a deeper level.  Greg escapes, only to find there is a long road back to himself.

The reading is directed by Tina Barone includes the following cast: Travis Morgan (Greg); Mary McConnell (Bonnie); Mike Veasey (Buddy); Betsey Manzoni (Justine, School Secretary, Ginger); and Aaron Ratzan (Mr. Desantis, Frank) with stage directions by Helene Montagna.

Holmdel Theatre Company is located at 36 Crawfords Corner Road in Holmdel, New Jersey. All seating is general seating.​ Doors open approximately 30 minutes before show time.

Holmdel Theatre Company at the Duncan Smith Theater (HTC) is a non-profit, semi-professional theatre company dedicated to presenting fresh interpretations of classic plays as well as rarely presented modern dramas and comedies. HTC is dedicated to providing opportunities for students and non-professionals to work with professional theatre artists in a collaborative, artistic and educational exchange.

The playful world of wizardry and witchcraft takes to the stage at Stockton University with a presentation of the play "Puffs, Or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years At A Certain School of Magic and Magic." Performances run April 3–5, 2025, at 7:30 PM and April 5–6 at 2 PM in the Experimental Theater below the Performing Arts Center. Written by Matt Cox, who was inspired by books about pubescent youth finding their way at wizarding school, "Puffs" is a humorous and heartwarming story told from the perspective of the often-overlooked members of Puff House at a magical school.
