Sunday, February 23 - Pianist Luther Allison Brings the Music of New Orleans to Audiences Across the Country. James Black was a New Orleans-based jazz drummer, little known outside of the Crescent City. James Carroll Booker III was called the "piano prince of New Orleans." Harold Battiste was a reedist and composer who worked closely with such artists as Ellis Marsalis, Sam Cooke, and Dr. John.
Wednesday, February 26 - Teaneck International Film Festival Offers Online Screening of "Home Court". (TEANECK, NJ) -- The Teaneck International Film Festival offers an online screening of the documentary film Home Court by Erica Tanamachi, Jenn Lee Smith, and Brandon Soun on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. The screening is part of a five documentary film series called Indie Lens Pop-Up.
An Interview with Al Schnier from moe.. On Thursday, February 27, 2025, Buffalo, NY based band, moe. will perform at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, NJ. Then on Friday, February 28 and again on Saturday, March 1, moe. will head to Philadelphia, PA to perform two nights at Brooklyn Bowl. These shows are part of their winter tour celebrating the release of their new album, "Circle of Giants". I was able to speak with Al Schnier from moe. in anticipation of these shows.

Sunday, March 2 - Vocalist/Pianist Champian Fulton to Salute Big Band Female Vocalists at Madison Jazz Concert. (MADISON, NJ) -- In March 2024, vocalist/pianist Champian Fulton released an album called Flying High: Big Band Canaries Who Soared, paying tribute to female vocalists of the Big Band Era. Featuring several guest vocalists, it included such standards as "On the Sunny Side of the Street" (closely associated with Ella Fitzgerald); "I Don't Know Enough About You" (Peggy Lee); and "Sweet Georgia Brown" (Anita O'Day).
Thursday, February 27 - PSO's New Chamber Music Series at Trinity Continues with the Valencia Baryton Project. (PRINCETON, NJ) -- Music of the baryton will be showcased at the next concert on the Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO)'s new chamber music series at Trinity Church in Princeton. The Valencia Baryton Project performs works for baryton trio by Joseph Haydn on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 7:00pm.
Saturday, March 1 - Harmonium Choral Society presents "Sing Me To Heaven" concerts in March. Bergen County Players presents "Rabbit Hole". (ORADELL, NJ) -- Bergen County Players (BCP), one of America's longest running theater companies, showcases a perfect balancing act of drama, comedy and catharsis in its production of Rabbit Hole, which won playwright David Lindsay-Abaire a Pulitzer Prize in 2007. NJ Rep presents the World Premiere of "Make Believe". (LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- Marking the start of another extraordinary season dedicated to new voices and compelling stories, New Jersey Repertory Company (NJRep) launches its 28th season with the World Premiere of Make Believe by acclaimed playwright John Biguenet, directed by NJ Rep's Artistic Director SuzAnne Barabas. "The Jonathan Larson Project" to Have World Premiere in NYC. (NEW YORK, NY) -- Richard Frankel, Tom Viertel, Steven Baruch, and Marc Routh proudly announce the world premiere of The Jonathan Larson Project, a new musical that celebrates the dozens of unheard songs, unfinished and unproduced musicals, and pop songs found in files and boxes when the visionary writer of RENT died suddenly at the age of 35 in 1996. Conceived by Jennifer Ashley Tepper and directed by John Simpkins, The Jonathan Larson Project features more than 20 undiscovered songs by the Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning writer.
Theater League of Clifton to present "Girls Night Out" Murder Mystery/Comedy at Mario's Restaurant. Passage Theatre Company presents Trenton premiere of "Topdog/Underdog". (TRENTON, NJ) -- In celebration of Black History Month, Passage Theatre—the only professional theater company in New Jersey's state capital—is producing the Trenton premiere of Topdog/Underdog by Pulitzer prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks as part of its landmark 40th anniversary season.
