(PRINCETON, NJ) -- McCarter Theatre presents Bereishit Dance Company on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 7:30pm in the Matthews Theatre. Drawing from many sources, including martial arts and street dance, Bereishit Dance Company creates groundbreaking performances that take your breath away.
This Seoul-based group is celebrated for its athletic precision and creative choreography, approaching Korean traditional culture from a contemporary perspective.
The evening’s program will feature two works: Balance and Imbalance and Judo. With Balance and Imbalance, dancers seamlessly partner and then hurtle through space, illustrating the constantly turning wheel of opposition and harmony at the heart of all relationships. The performance, featuring six dancers, is accompanied by an ensemble of Korean traditional drummers.
Judo, featuring six male dancers, deploys the symbolic meaning of sports as a counterpoint and frame of reference and presents, through the medium of dance, the harmonious play between rhythm, movement and space.
Tickets range from $33-$83 and are available for purchase online. McCarter Theatre is located at 91 University Place in Princeton, New Jersey.
