Discover why it’s vital for female writers to share their life experiences. The creator of Miracle Creek and Happiness Falls, available at the Ocean County Library, will describe essentials for writing compelling stories of family bonds, gender, race, disabilities and immigration, all points that she emphasizes in her OCL Sound Waves interview on Spotify and affiliated platforms.

A question-and-answer session and book signing will follow each discussion. Shore-based Thunder Road Books will be on hand to vend copies of Angie’s books.

The South Korea native graduated Michigan’s Interlochen Arts Academy and studied at Stanford University and Harvard Law School, where she edited the Harvard Law Review.

Angie’s novels and essays have been showered in praise and prizes. Notably, Miracle Creek captured the Edgar Award, Pinckley Prize, Strand Critics’ Award and ITW Thriller Award and landed among Time Magazine’s 100 best thrillers of all time. Happiness Falls topped the New York Times bestseller list, won the Virginia Literary Award and became Oprah Daily’s highest-rated novel of 2023.
