RVCC Holocaust Institute Sets Show Offering Accessible Telling of Anne Frank's Story

originally published: 02/15/2025

(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- The Institute of Holocaust & Genocide Studies at Raritan Valley Community College will present Bright Star Touring Theatre's production of The Story of Anne Frank on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 10:00am.

The one-hour show will be staged in person at RVCC’s Branchburg campus and also streamed live online. Admission is free of charge and open to the public, and registration is required. The performance is recommended for audiences in grades six and older.

World War II was a desperate and intense time for everyone, but it was especially devastating to the Jewish people living under Nazi rule. This production offers an engaging and accessible approach to one of history’s darkest chapters, as told through direct accounts from Anne Frank’s diary and the heartfelt retelling of her story by her father, Otto. The courage of Anne Frank and her family truly demonstrates the strength of the human spirit in the most challenging times.

The show is being staged in conjunction with an exhibition, Anne Frank in Translation, on display until May 15 at RVCC. The eight-panel exhibition, presented by the Institute of Holocaust & Genocide Studies, highlights Anne Frank’s enduring legacy and her role as a powerful symbol of the Holocaust.

The performance is part of the Learning Through Experience series, presented in partnership with the Jewish Federation of West-Central New Jersey. Groups of five or more attending the in-person show should email michelle.edgar@raritanval.edu to reserve seats. Individuals may register for the in-person show or virtual streaming at https://tinyurl.com/38d5n8uj.
