McCarter Theatre Center presents the National Tour of "Here There Are Blueberries" by Tectonic Theater Project  (PRINCETON, NJ) -- McCarter Theatre Center proudly launches the National Tour of Here There Are Blueberries, the acclaimed Pulitzer Prize finalist play from Tectonic Theater Project by Tony and Emmy nominee Moisés Kaufman and Emmy nominee Amanda Gronich. The production runs January 24 through February 9, 2025.

Dunbar Repertory Company presents August Wilson's "Two Trains Running" at Middletown Arts Center  (MIDDLETOWN, NJ) -- The Middletown Arts Center, in conjunction with Dunbar Repertory Company, presents a special Black History Month production of August Wilson's Two Trains Running, produced by Darrell Lawrence Willis, Sr. and directed by Mark Antonio Henderson, February 6-16, 2025. Set in 1969's Pittsburgh Hill District, Two Trains Running explores racial tensions in the Civil Rights era, as argued over by regulars at a struggling diner owned by Memphis Lee, who fights to get fair compensation for his building as the neighborhood faces urban renewal.

State Theatre New Jersey presents "The Simon & Garfunkel Story"  (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The internationally acclaimed hit theater show The Simon & Garfunkel Story returns to the road in 2025 with a North American tour to nearly 60 U.S. cities including a stop at State Theatre New Jersey in New Brunswick on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 8:00pm. The immersive concert-style tribute show, complete with nostalgia-inducing, unforgettable hits, will recreate the magic and authenticity of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel live on stage and chronicles the amazing journey of the iconic, Grammy® Award-winning act.

Paper Mill Playhouse presents "Mystic Pizza" - A New Musical based on the classic film  (MILLBURN, NJ) -- Paper Mill Playhouse presents Mystic Pizza - a new musical based on the 1988 movie which starred Julia Roberts - from January 29 through February 23, 2025. Mystic Pizza is about three working-class girls who navigate the complexities of life, love and family in a small-town pizza joint. Click here for photos from the production.

Masquerade Theatre presents "Rabbit Hole"  (RIVERSIDE, NJ) -- Masquerade Theatre presents Rabbit Hole by David Lindsay-Abaire across two weekends (January 31 - February 2, 2025 and February 6-8, 2025). The production is directed by by Megan Knowlton Balne. Rabbit Hole was the recipient of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Centenary Stage Company's NEXTStage Repertory presents Shakespeare's "The Tempest"  (HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company's NEXTStage Repertory presents William Shakespeare's The Tempest adapted and directed by Stephen Michael Davis from February 6-10, 2025. The Tempest is Shakespeare's comedy about betrayal, ill-treatment, and the development of magical arts, all set against the backdrop of a plot for revenge.

"James and the Giant Peach" heads into final performances at Kelsey Theatre  (WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- A classic children’s story, along with its magic and wonder, comes to life with the Spirit Players's production "James and the Giant Peach" now through February 9, 2025 at the Kelsey Theatre on the West Windsor Campus of Mercer County Community College (MCCC). The tale has captured the imagination for generations of children, and has been adapted for television, screen, stage, and as a stage musical.

Murder Mystery Co. presents "Till Death Do Us Part: Murder Mystery Dessert Theater" at Brookdale PAC  (LINCROFT, NJ) -- Brookdale Community College is set to host an unforgettable evening of mystery, mayhem, and merriment as the Murder Mystery Co. presents Till Death Do Us Part: Murder Mystery Dessert Theater on February 7, 2025 at 8:00pm. This thrilling event invites guests to indulge in delightful desserts, sip coffee or tea, and immerse themselves in an intriguing whodunnit.

Brundage Park Playhouse presents "Footloose"  (RANDOLPH, NJ) -- Brundage Park Playhouse presents Footloose across two weekends (February 7-9 and February 14-16, 2025). This is a musical version of the 1984 film. A rebellious teenager moves to a small middle-America town where dance is forbidden, and encourages his classmates to defy the local pastor and call for a rock’n’roll prom.

Old Library Theatre presents the heartwarming new original musical, "Cardboard Trees and a Painted Moon"  (FAIR LAWN, NJ) -- Old Library Theatre (OLT), Fair Lawn Recreation Department's resident theatre company, will present this unique musical, Cardboard Trees and a Painted Moon, from February 7-9, 2025. Hope, joy, and optimism: the music and lyrics of award-winning songwriter Patrick Dwyer take center stage in the world premiere of the new musical revue. It is a love letter to community theatre in all of its messiness and all of its infinite possibilities.

Fund for Irish Studies at Princeton University presents a Conversation with Ireland's Abbey Theatre  (PRINCETON, NJ) -- Princeton University's Fund for Irish Studies continues its 2024-2025 series with a conversation with members of Ireland’s Abbey Theatre: Literary and New Work Director Ruth McGowan and well-known Irish actor and Associate Artist Derbhle Crotty will discuss writing and performing in Ireland and perhaps offer readings from some Irish plays. Fund for Irish Studies co-chair and director of the Program in Theater and Music Theater Jane Cox will moderate the conversation on Friday, February 7, 2025 at the James Stewart Film Theater at 185 Nassau Street. The event begins at 4:30pm.

Music Mountain Theatre presents "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike"  (LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- Music Mountain Theatre presents Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike weekends from February 7-23, 2025. Family rivalry, outrageous costumes, and a sassy maid bring big laughs in this Tony-winning comedy by local playwright Christopher Durang.

Playhouse 22 presents "Sylvia" - a Light-Hearted Comedy About a Man and His Dog  (EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Playhouse 22 presents Sylvia, a comedy by A. R. Gurney, weekends from February 7-16, 2025. Directed by Christian Confalone, Sylvia is largely about Greg, a middle-aged, empty-nester tired of his finance job and looking for meaning in his life.

Bergen Catholic High School presents "Grease: School Edition" at HACPAC  (HACKENSACK, NJ) -- Bergen Catholic High School presents Grease: School Edition at the Hackensack Performing Arts Center (HACPAC) February 7-9, 2025. Step back in time to Rydell High's senior class of 1959, featuring the iconic "Greasers" and their hip-shaking "Pink Ladies."

Bergen County Players presents "Rabbit Hole"  (ORADELL, NJ) -- Bergen County Players (BCP), one of America's longest running theater companies, showcases a perfect balancing act of drama, comedy and catharsis in its production of Rabbit Hole, which won playwright David Lindsay-Abaire a Pulitzer Prize in 2007. The show opens Saturday, February 8 and runs weekends through March 1, 2025 at the Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell.

American Theater Group presents a Reading of "The Waiting Room" by Paul Marsh  (RAHWAY, NJ) -- American Theater Group (ATG) will present the premiere reading of Paul Marsh's new comedy The Waiting Room as part of its free Monday Night Play Reading Series on February 10, 2025 at Hamilton Stage in Rahway, NJ. The cast will feature Broadway's Brenda Braxton (Smokey Joe's Cafe – Tony Award nomination; Chicago) along with William Selby and Jennifer Smith (Anastasia, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder). Showtime is 7:00pm.

NJ Rep presents the World Premiere of "Make Believe"  (LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- Marking the start of another extraordinary season dedicated to new voices and compelling stories, New Jersey Repertory Company (NJRep) launches its 28th season with the World Premiere of Make Believe by acclaimed playwright John Biguenet, directed by NJ Rep's Artistic Director SuzAnne Barabas. The production runs from February 13 to March 9, 2025. Make Believe is a nostalgic, haunting look back at the world of 1930's Hollywood, where larger-than-life movie stars went to great lengths to keep their secrets from coming to light.

"The Jonathan Larson Project" to Have World Premiere in NYC  (NEW YORK, NY) -- Richard Frankel, Tom Viertel, Steven Baruch, and Marc Routh proudly announce the world premiere of The Jonathan Larson Project, a new musical that celebrates the dozens of unheard songs, unfinished and unproduced musicals, and pop songs found in files and boxes when the visionary writer of RENT died suddenly at the age of 35 in 1996. Conceived by Jennifer Ashley Tepper and directed by John Simpkins, The Jonathan Larson Project features more than 20 undiscovered songs by the Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning writer.

Vivid Stage to Celebrate 30th Anniversary with Fundraising Gala on Valentine's Day - Love Songs and Laments  (SUMMIT, NJ) -- Vivid Stage will celebrate its 30th Anniversary with a special gala fundraiser on Friday, February 14, 2025. This special Valentine's Day celebration will be held at the Oakes Center in Summit from 6:00pm-10:00pm. As part of this special event, the theatre will honor Steven McIntyre, a former board member and staff member and longtime patron and friend of the company.

Ferrell Studios presents "Tick, Tick... BOOM!" at Mignolo Arts Center  (METUCHEN, NJ) -- Ferrell Studios presents Tick, Tick... BOOM! at Mignolo Arts Center from February 14-16, 2025. Tick, Tick... BOOM! is a musical created by late composer, Jonathan Larson (Rent). It is an autobiographical drama that follows Jon's life as a struggling musical theatre composer living in New York City in 1990.

Brookdale Community College Performing Arts Center presents "Blithe Spirit"  (LINCROFT, NJ) -- Prepare for an evening of laughter and enchantment as Brookdale Community College Performing Arts Center presents Blithe Spirit, a delightful supernatural comedy by Noël Coward, across two weekends in February. This whimsical play, famously brought to life by the talented Angela Lansbury, promises to captivate audiences with its blend of wit, humor, and supernatural mischief.

South Street Players presents "Crimes of the Heart"  (SPRING LAKE, NJ) -- South Street Players presents Crimes of the Heart by Beth Henley across two weekends (February 14-16 and February 21-23, 2025) in Wesley Hall. The play was the winner of the 1981 Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics Award for Best American Play.

Magnolia Productions presents "Almost, Maine"  (ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ) -- Magnolia Productions presents Almost, Maine at the Navesink Library across two weekends (February 14-15 and February 21-22, 2025). This is John Cariani's heartwarming tale of regular people falling in and out of love in strange and sometimes hilarious ways.

The Growing Stage presents "Catching the Moon: The Story of a Young Girl's Baseball Dream"  (NETCONG, NJ) -- The Growing Stage: The Children's Theatre of New Jersey is thrilled to present Catching the Moon: The Story of a Young Girl's Baseball Dream weekends from February 14-23, 2025. It tells the spirited story of the Black girl who grew up to become "Toni Stone," the first woman to play for an all-male professional baseball team.

Lewis Center for the Arts presents "To Dream About Wings"  (PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Lewis Center for the Arts’ Program in Theater and Music Theater at Princeton University presents To Dream About Wings, a new play by Princeton senior Stephenie Chen. The play explores dreams of many forms: from dreams of flight, America, and happiness to the haunting of loss. The production is directed by senior Wasif Sami. Performances are February 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22, 2025 in the Wallace Theater at the Lewis Arts complex on the Princeton campus. Showtime is 8:00pm each night.

Monmouth University's Center for the Arts presents A Bronx Tale: The One Man Show starring Chazz Palminteri  (WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- Monmouth University's Center for the Arts presents A Bronx Tale: The One Man Show starring Chazz Palminteri on Saturday, February 15, 2025 in the Pollak Theatre. Showtime is 8:00pm.

Theater League of Clifton to present "Girls Night Out" Murder Mystery/Comedy at Mario's Restaurant  (CLIFTON, NJ) -- The Theater League of Clifton will present its next dinner/theater production, "Girls Night Out," an 'interactive' murder/mystery comedy. Performances will be held at Mario's Restaurant (710 Van Houten Avenue) in Clifton across three weekends from February 15 to March 2, 2025.

Two River Theater presents "Dial M for Murder"  (RED BANK, NJ) -- Two River Theater presents the stylish thriller that inspired a Hitchcock classic, Dial M for Murder, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher (Scotland Road, Wait Until Dark), from the original by Frederick Knott. Directed by Drama Desk Award nominee Jenn Thompson (Little Shop of Horrors, Chains, Conflict and Women Without Men), Dial M for Murder runs from February 15 - March 9, 2025 in the Joan and Robert Rechnitz Theater.

Algonquin Arts Theatre presents "The Diary of Anne Frank"  (MANASQUAN, NJ) -- Algonquin Arts Theatre presents four performances of The Diary of Anne Frank from February 15-22, 2025. Embark on a poignant journey through history with one of the most powerful and enduring stories of resilience, family, hope, and the human spirit. Anne Frank's eloquent and deeply moving words leap from the pages of her diary to the stage.

SPQR Stage Company presents 7th "New Works Weekend"  (SOMERS POINT, NJ) -- SPQR Stage Company will host its seventh "New Works Weekend," a two-day festival of nine new, original short plays that will make their world premieres at Studio;Space in Somers Point, February 15-16, 2025, with the option to livestream on February 15th.

Peak Performances presents Musical-In-Concert Performances of "Queen of the Mist"  (MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- PEAK Performances at Montclair State University presents its musical-in-concert performances of Queen of the Mist from February 20–23, 2025 in the Alexander Kasser Theater. This is a bold yet often overlooked musical being presented in a time when its themes are all the more resonant, and its thrilling originality is all the more rare.

Passage Theatre Company presents Trenton premiere of "Topdog/Underdog"  (TRENTON, NJ) -- In celebration of Black History Month, Passage Theatre—the only professional theater company in New Jersey's state capital—is producing the Trenton premiere of Topdog/Underdog by Pulitzer prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks as part of its landmark 40th anniversary season. This production will be directed by marcus d. harvey and stars Steven St. Pierre and Anthony Vaughn Merchant respectively as brothers Lincoln and Booth. It runs from February 20th to March 9, 2025.

Luna Stage presents "A Case for the Existence of God"  (WEST ORANGE, NJ) -- Luna Stage presents the NY Drama Critics' Circle award-winner for Best Play, A Case for the Existence of God by Samuel D. Hunter from February 20 - March 16, 2025. Directed by Luna Artistic Director Ari Laura Kreith, this is a heartrending yet hopeful play about two men’s parallel desires to build a secure foundation for their families.

Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center presents NJ Premiere of "Jaja's African Hair Braiding"  (PLAINFIELD, NJ) -- duCret Center of Art's stage will become a braiding salon when Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center presents the New Jersey premiere of Jaja's African Hair Braiding, a hit play in New York, from February 21–23, 2025.

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- George Street Playhouse presents King James from March 18 through April 7, 2025. Written by Pulitzer Prize finalist playwright Rajiv Joseph (Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo), the production is directed by Ryan George (GSP's The Club). King James is a funny and heartfelt look at loyalty, ambition, and celebrates the connections that keep us going.

(SOMERS POINT, NJ) -- SPQR Stage Company will host its seventh "New Works Weekend," a two-day festival of nine new, original short plays that will make their world premieres at Studio;Space in Somers Point, February 15-16, 2025, with the option to livestream on February 15th.
