FilmOneFest to Accept Submissions for 2025 Festival

(ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ) -- LESS IS MORE! The FilmOneFest is an annual short film festival challenges filmmakers of all kinds to tell their stories in UNDER 2 MINUTES. FOF presents the best short films from around the world against the backdrop of the Atlantic Highlands Marina overlooking majestic New York City. In conjunction with the Atlantic Highlands Arts Council, FOF provides filmmakers with the opportunity to support and share their most innovative, diverse and entertaining short-short films out there.

Taking place on July 19, 2025 outdoors at the beautiful Atlantic Highlands Marina in historic Atlantic Highlands, NJ, the FOF is completely unique film festival experience. Offering filmmakers the opportunity to meet and make industry connections while enjoying a unique outdoor screening event combining film, art and music the FOF truly separates itself from other festivals. With Jury & Judge, Audience Choice and Young Filmmaker Awards, we encourage, support and reward the art of the short filmmaker.

FilmOneFest will begin accepting submissions on January 15, 2025 with the Earlybird Deadline set for March 15th, the Regular Deadline set for April 15th, and the Final Deadline set for May 15th.  The Notification Date is July 1, 2025.

The FilmOneFest is supported by Sony Pictures Classics, and in part by the Monmouth County Arts Council through funding from the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, The County Historical Commission & The NJ State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment of the Arts. The FilmOneFest/Atlantic Highlands Arts Council supports the Atlantic Highlands Food Pantry through food drives and donations.

RULES AND CONDITIONS

* All films MUST BE UNDER 2 MINUTES to be considered.

* While all genres and film styles are requested, the films must be family friendly and appropriate for a mixed aged viewing audience.

* Submissions containing explicit sexual content or violence cannot be considered.

* They do NOT accept commercial advertisements for products or services.

* If film language is not in English, film submissions must include clear English subtitles.

* By submitting their work, the filmmaker warrants that the film being submitted is their own creation, that they have all rights to submit the film, that the film is not the product of “A.I” or other solely computer-generated materials.

* It is understood that the film, if accepted for presentation, may be shown on one or more occasions, and that it may be used for advertising or promotional purposes.

* Drama – make us feel

* Sci-Fi – make us wonder

* Horror – make us scared

* Experimental – make us see the world in a different way

* Documentary – make us understand

* Animation – make us cartooned

* NJ Filmmaker - From New Jersey

* Female Filmmaker Category - The writer, director and producers are females.

* Student – Students must be currently enrolled in school (18 or under when the film was made) and can provide a copy of a valid student ID upon request. All student film are entered into FilmOneFest.

SUBMISSION TYPES

* They will accept secure online screeners as well as films shared with them via a downloadable link (dropbox/vimeo/google drive). Link must be shared within a week of notification of acceptance into the festival. Please make your film downloadable for judging purposes only. Please provide password if used.

IMPORTANT: FilmOneFest reserves the right to use your film for promotional purposes.

The Atlantic Highlands Arts Council (AHAC) is an all-volunteer organization comprised of a dedicated group of core volunteers who make up their Board of Directors, as well as many volunteers who gallery sit and offer their services on committees. Their mission is to strengthen community through the arts. Formed in 2004, the Atlantic Highlands Arts Council (AHAC) transitioned from acting as “Mayor’s Council on the Arts” in 2006 to an incorporated 501(c)3 nonprofit organization starting in 2007.

Over the years, new partnerships and creative programming has blossomed. AHAC presents rotating exhibitions in their main gallery and window displays; an ArtSHOP boutique for local arts, wares, and jewelry; adult art classes and workshops; free summer art camp for youth; free Art Kits for Kids to local elementary and middle schools; community events; and their annual international and award-winning FilmOneFest.
