Ferrell Studios presents "Tick, Tick... BOOM!" at Mignolo Arts Center

originally published: 01/06/2025

(METUCHEN, NJ) -- Ferrell Studios presents Tick, Tick... BOOM! at Mignolo Arts Center from February 14-16, 2025. Tick, Tick... BOOM! is a musical created by late composer, Jonathan Larson (Rent). It is an autobiographical drama that follows Jon's life as a struggling musical theatre composer living in New York City in 1990.

Jon is facing constant rejection on top of juggling work, a relationship, and friendships; all in the midst of the AIDS epidemic. His girlfriend wants to get married and move out of the city, his best friend is making big bucks on Madison Avenue and, yet, Jon is still waiting on tables and trying to write the great American musical. This compelling story of personal discovery is presented as a rock musical filled with instantly appealing melodies and a unique blend of musical theatre styles.

Performances take place Friday, February 14 at 8:00pm; Saturday, February 15 at 2:00pm & 8:00pm; and Sunday, February 16 at 6:00pm.  Tickets ($15 for students, $20 for adults) are available for purchase online. Mignolo Arts Center is located at 272 Lake Avenue in Metuchen, New Jersey.

The cast includes Max Evans (Jon), Garid Garcia (Michael), Cate Pasterchick (Susan) and Jordyn Sava (Karessa).  The production is directed by Luke Ferrell. The creative team includes Jack Costentino (Assistant Director), Ryan Kalin (Music Director), and Lauren Bromberg (Stage Manager and Choreographer).
