(PLAINFIELD, NJ) -- The Plainfield Public Library is proud to host Embracing Stippling, a solo exhibition by award-winning artist Lydia Watson, Watsart. Running from now to January 11, 2025, the exhibit highlights Watson's mastery of stippling, a meticulous technique that transforms thousands of dots into stunning imagery. Admission is free.
Embracing Stippling features a diverse collection of works that explore themes of patience, resilience, and the beauty found in detail. This exhibit reflects Watson’s international acclaim, with influences from her exhibits across Europe and her New Jersey roots.
Lydia Watson, who signs her work as both Lydia Watson and Watsart, is an internationally exhibited and award-winning artist known for her expressive storytelling and intricate techniques.
Plainfield Public Library is located at 800 Park Avenue in Plainfield, New Jersey. The library serves Plainfield's residential, educational, and business communities through a central 45,000sf facility that is open six days and four evenings a week. Through inter-local agreements, the Library also serves residents of many neighboring towns. The Library houses approximately 310,000 volumes, including 150,000 special collection items, and employs approximately 55 full and part time staff members; 10 of whom hold M.L.S. degrees. Fifteen of the part-time staff are grant funded and work in their Literacy program.
