The Porchistas Home Studio Hosts a Winter Solstice House Show on December 21st

originally published: 12/09/2024

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- On Saturday, December 21, 2024, Winter Solstice, The Porchistas are hosting a special Holiday show at the house with a bunch of their closest friends in Montclair's tight-knit music community. The lineup includes Nicole Scorsone, Bern & the Brights, The Porchistas, and The Defending Champions.

On this, the darkest day of the year, they're purposely reinforcing their local community as we head into what is going to be some real tough times.  This is a no-obligation Potluck.  There will be plenty of food and spirit to go around. Here's the FB Event.

Doors open at 3:00pm and admission is $10 with all proceeds going to the bands.  Put in Solstice24 in the Venmo "what's this for". The Porchistas Home Studio is located at 148 Forest Street in Montclair, New Jersey.

Nicole Scorsone - original violin quartet. Nicole has added strings to recent tracks by Juliana Frangela, Mike Montrey, and this one by Renee Maskin.

Bern & the Brights - electro dream pop. Mixing rhythmic loops, synths, ambient guitars, emotional vocals, and introspective lyrics, their music is a fusion of light and dark wave.

The Porchistas - Porch Punks. The Porchistas started as a bunch of friends writing and singing songs late into summer nights on their rickety porch on Forest Street in Montclair.  That evolved to DIY house concerts and block parties that continue today.  The band includes Arian Clay-Sirop, Vincent Demming, Adam "Devil Hands" Falzer, and Alan "Sucia" Smith.

The Defending Champions - NJ rock, funk, R&B legends. The Defending Champions are a 6-piece original band that’s been playing throughout the tri-state area for over 17 years. They appeal to a wide audience and are best described as a horn-driven, high energy melting pot of American R&B, Rock n’ Roll, Ska and global party music. They're gonna play this show as a folkier gypsy-esque 4 piece.
