A Holiday Showstopper: Ocean County College Repertory Theatre Co. presents "Broadway for the Holidays 4"

(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- Get ready to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with the Ocean County College Repertory Theatre Company! This month, "Broadway for the Holidays 4" returns to the Black Box Theater at the Grunin Center for the Arts, located on Ocean County College's main campus in Toms River. Performances run across two weekends from December 12-22, 2024.

Back by popular demand, this festive extravaganza brings the magic of Broadway to the holiday season like never before. Delight in a dazzling journey through beloved holiday songs and timeless classics that capture the joy and wonder of the holidays. From heartwarming ballads to toe-tapping showstoppers, “Broadway for the Holidays 4” promises an unforgettable musical experience for the whole family.

Performances take place Thursday, December 12 at 7:30pm; Friday, December 13 at 7:30pm; Saturday, December 14 at 7:30pm; Sunday, December 15 at 2:00pm; Friday, December 20 at 7:30pm; Saturday, December 21 at 2:00pm & 7:30pm; and Sunday, December 22 at 2:00pm. Tickets are $24 adults, $20 seniors. Tickets are available for purchase online or by calling the Grunin Center Box Office at 732-255-0500. Grunin Center for the Arts is located on the Ocean County College campus at 1 College Drive in Toms River, New Jersey.

Under the direction of Performing Arts Program Chair Paul Chalakani, the mission of the OCC Repertory Theater Company is to create opportunities for college and community participation in various rich and diverse theatrical experiences. The Company seeks to engage, entertain, inspire, and educate to enhance the cultural life of Ocean County College and the surrounding communities. The OCC/REP provides OCC students, faculty, staff, and residents of neighboring communities the opportunity to attend and/or participate in quality performances of theatrical works – musicals and plays, classical and modern, traditional and experimental, through a well-balanced theatrical season. Additionally, the OCC/REP provides an environment for students of our performing arts program to apply what they are learning in a collaborative and encouraging format. The OCC/REP celebrates the power of the theatre to illuminate and mirror the human experience.

Fund for Irish Studies at Princeton University presents a Conversation with Ireland's Abbey Theatre

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Princeton University's Fund for Irish Studies continues its 2024-2025 series with a conversation with members of Ireland’s Abbey Theatre: Literary and New Work Director Ruth McGowan and well-known Irish actor and Associate Artist Derbhle Crotty will discuss writing and performing in Ireland and perhaps offer readings from some Irish plays. Fund for Irish Studies co-chair and director of the Program in Theater and Music Theater Jane Cox will moderate the conversation on Friday, February 7, 2025 at the James Stewart Film Theater at 185 Nassau Street. The event begins at 4:30pm.

(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company's NEXTStage Repertory presents William Shakespeare's The Tempest adapted and directed by Stephen Michael Davis from February 6-10, 2025. The Tempest is Shakespeare's comedy about betrayal, ill-treatment, and the development of magical arts, all set against the backdrop of a plot for revenge.

'Small' Brings Big Energy to George Street Playhouse

When thinking about occupations kids say they want when they get older, a list comes to mind – doctor, superhero, firefighter, etc. But not many would find their passion at the horse racing track and say they want to become a jockey. In "Small," an autobiographical play written and performed by Robert "Bobby" Montano, the story follows Montano as he races and fulfills his dream on the horse racing tracks of Long Island, New York. It does not stop there, however. The 90-minute play is a story of love, loss and more as Montano grapples with some difficult life decisions.

(WEST ORANGE, NJ) -- Luna Stage presents the NY Drama Critics' Circle award-winner for Best Play, A Case for the Existence of God by Samuel D. Hunter from February 20 - March 16, 2025. Directed by Luna Artistic Director Ari Laura Kreith, this is a heartrending yet hopeful play about two men’s parallel desires to build a secure foundation for their families.
