(BASKING RIDGE, NJ) -- Trilogy Repertory presents The Trip to Bountiful weekends from November 16-24, 2024 at the Sieminski Theater. Horton Foote's moving play tells the story of Carrie Watts, an elderly woman, who longs to escape the cramped Houston apartment where she lives with her protective son, Ludie, and her authoritarian daughter-in-law, Jessie Mae.
Carrie wants to return to her beloved hometown of Bountiful, Texas, one final time before she dies. While Ludie is at work and Jessie Mae is at the drugstore, Carrie escapes to the bus station and befriends a young woman named Thelma. The new friends travel toward Bountiful together, but when Carrie arrives in nearby Harrison, Texas, she begins to learn that her beloved town isn’t the same as she remembered it.

Performances take place Saturday, November 16 at 7:30pm; Sunday, November 17 at 2:30pm; Friday, November 22 at 7:30pm; Saturday, November 23 at 7:30pm; and Sunday, November 24 at 2:30pm. Tickets range from $25-$40 and are available for purchase online. The Sieminski Theater is located at 8000 Fellowship Road in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.

Trilogy Repertory is a local community theater group in residence at the Sieminski Theater. Each year, the company endeavors to present shows in the Spring and Fall, as well as traveling children’s participation theater performed in local libraries. Each summer, two shows are produced at the Pleasant Valley Park amphitheater. Historical programs are presented to students and community at the Boudinot-Southard-Ross property. Fourth grade students visit the site as part of their history curriculum. Trilogy performs historical plays chronicling the life of Elias Boudinot, who developed the property in the 1760s. These events are presented free of charge.
Trilogy also offers educational outreach programs including teen cabaret (performing opportunities to future stars). Trilogy conducts theater and costume workshops at museums and local schools. Costumes and props from our collection have been made available to countless schools and organizations, enhancing the production value of their shows.
