Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country at The Stone Pony: 10/18/24 My first sight of Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country was a live stream of the Vail, Colorado 7/7/24 show. The vision in my screen popped into my mind like a 1950's cowboy cartoon. As they played, Tumblin' Tumbleweeds I saw cardboard cutouts of an old west town compete with cactus in the horizon and critters turning on a circle like a classic shooting gallery in rhythm to the music.

Teaneck International Film Festival to Screen "Ain't No Back to a Merry-Go-Round" (TEANECK, NJ) -- The Puffin Cultural Forum will screen the groundbreaking new documentary Ain't No Back to a Merry-Go-Round, from Emmy award-winning director Ilana Trachtman (Praying with Lior, Mariachi High, Black in Latin America) as part of the Teaneck International Film Festival on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at 4:45pm. The documentary is quickly becoming a lightning rod for heartfelt dialogue between the Black and Jewish communities, and celebrated in both communities' film festivals simultaneously. Ain't No Back won Best Documentary Feature at the DC Black Film Festival, and three weeks later went on to sell out all five nights of a limited theatrical run at the DC JCC.

(TRENTON, NJ) -- The life and loves of noted area 19th century beauty Annette Savage will be the topic of a talk Saturday, February 9, 2025 at Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie. Titled "Le Jeu de l'Amour," the program, led by journalist and writer Dan Aubrey, will explore how Napoleon’s brother and former King of Spain, Joseph Bonaparte, and his American mistress, Annette Savage, found passion and pain in the Trenton and Bordentown region of New Jersey. The event runs from from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
