(BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- The Ocean County Library Berkeley Branch is pleased to present "The Art of Zentangle©" by Beachwood artist Kath Gregitis throughout the month of November. The array of original miniature abstract art pieces occupies the Branch's main display case.
Kath Gregitis became a Certified Zentangle© Teacher (CZT 16) after retirement from her 31-year career in Special Education. Intrigued by the art form she spotted in MaryJanesFarm Magazine, Kath pursued and received instructor’s certification in Providence, Rhode Island in autumn 2014.
“I have continued taking classes and seminars,” Kath said in the Zentangle© website, including TangleU in Maine and TangleOn in Canada and ZenAgain in Providence, as well as attending wonderful Pine Creek Retreats at the Tangle Art and Zen studio in Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania.”
The art form was developed and copyrighted by Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts of Massachusetts. “Their slogan is ‘Anything is possible, one stroke at a time,’” Kath added. “Zentangles©…can be done by anyone, anywhere. It is a creative, relaxing process. There are no mistakes, and no prior artistic experience is needed.”
“The Art of Zentangle©” is free and open to the public during normal Branch operating hours. No registration is required. For more information, stop by the OCL Berkeley Branch, 30 Station Road, Bayville, visit the Library’s online Calendar of Events or call (732) 269-2144.
