Celebrating 25 Years of Entertainment: A Look Back and Ahead at the CURE Insurance Arena

originally published: 10/07/2024

(TRENTON, NJ) -- As the CURE Insurance Arena marks its 25th year, it stands as a beacon of entertainment in Trenton, serving as both a cultural hub and a source of community pride. Over the past quarter-century, the venue has hosted a remarkable variety of events, from sold-out concerts by world-famous musicians to thrilling sports matches, and it continues to deliver the kind of experiences that keep audiences coming back for more diverse content in New Jersey's Capital City.

The arena’s history is rich with performances that have left lasting memories. Legends like Bruce Springsteen, GHOST, Los Tigres Del Norte, and Elton John have taken the stage, turning nights with family and friends into unforgettable moments. Comedy greats like Jeff Dunham and Sommore have filled the venue with laughter, while sports enthusiasts have been treated to high-octane events like WWE and NCAA Basketball. And who could forget family-favorite shows such as Sesame Street LIVE, Disney on Ice, Paw Patrol, and so much more which have delighted both young and old.

As the CURE Insurance Arena celebrates its legacy, it’s also looking toward the future. The upcoming year is packed with an exciting lineup of events that will draw fans from all over New Jersey and beyond. The spectacle begins in November with Doubleheader College-Level Men’s Basketball – Deborah Heart & Lung Center Jersey Jam (Princeton University vs. Duquesne University & Temple University vs. Monmouth University) and later in the month Nitro Circus brings stunts that will thrill. As winter rolls in, the Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market brings an assortment of 300+ vendors, Hot Wheels Monster Trucks LIVE 'Glow-N-Fire' stops by, a neon-fueled, adrenaline-pumping show that promises to amaze both kids and adults alike. Later in the season Disney on Ice will bring the magic of beloved Disney characters to life. Also, for 2025, the arena will host the Harlem Globetrotters and various other events yet to be announced.

With the assistance of Mercer County Improvement Authority, the venue is completing various projects within the facility to improve customer service and offerings including updated concession stands, added grab-and-go areas, premium spaces, and suite level upgrades. The Arena is consistently having conversations with promoters and event organizers to increase event content at the facility and continue to offer diverse entertainment options to our patrons.

Oak View Group Management’s, Fran Rodowicz, General Manager of the CURE Insurance Arena, shared “We’re honored and thankful for the opportunity to manage this beautiful facility and look to continue to bring a diverse event mix and hundreds of thousands of patrons to Mercer County each year. We have a civic purpose and take pride in hosting something for everyone all year round and are proud of our history. I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of some great events here, from Bruce Springsteen and the Trenton Titans Kelly Cup win in 2005, many editions of WWE, the Harlem Globetrotters, Disney on Ice, Jeff Dunham, Trenton’s own Sommore, a plethora of youth, high school and collegiate sporting events in addition to graduations, and recently hosting sold-out Mexican band Bronco here in August. We continuously strive to include the venue in conversations for touring family show and concert acts, even with increased venue competition in all surrounding markets, and we will not stop in our efforts to better the venue, customer experience, and event content offerings here in Mercer County.”
