(FRENCHTOWN, NJ) -- ArtYard is pleased to announce singer and writer Joseph Keckler will host The Golden Hour, a new live performance series bringing some of today's boldest and most visionary artists together into an inviting variety show format. Keckler will also perform at each event.
The inaugural Golden Hour premieres on Saturday, September 28 starring celebrated filmmaker and writer Charlie Kaufman and award-winning poet Eva HD, weaving together prose and film by the two artists, including their recent collaboration, the lyrical Jackals & Fireflies.
Smoldering jazz noir from trailblazing underground heroine Lydia Lunch and powerhouse musical polymath Sylvia Black will take the stage on Sunday, October 27. Joining them for this special Halloween-themed set are legendary musicians Gregg Foreman, drummer Kevin Shea, and Matt Nelson.
On Saturday, November 16, bestselling author and outspoken columnist Lindy West (Shrill, The New York Times) and innovative comedian, composer and jazz musician Ahamefule Oluo deliver back-to-back performances.
Fearless solo performer Alex Tatarsky shares highlights of their acclaimed “tour de farce” Sad Boys in Harpy Land on Saturday, December 14.

Keckler was in residence at ArtYard this winter, culminating in a February 3, 2024 performance. Applauded by the New York Times as a “major vocal talent with a range that shatters conventional boundaries… and a trickster’s dark wit,” Joseph Keckler is a musician, writer, songwriter and multifaceted creator. His work has been presented by NPR Tiny Desk, Lincoln Center, Centre Pompidou, and many others. His writing has appeared in publications including McSweeney’s and Lithub. His story and essay collection, “Dragon at the Edge of a Flat World” was published in 2018 and in 2019 he premiered two evening-length performances pieces, including the critically acclaimed Train With No Midnight, and toured the United States as rock group Sleater-Kinney’s national support act. He will tour Australia on double bills with Lydia Lunch in March of 2024 and is currently recording new music and working on several film projects.
