"Eagle Nebula" by Katie Anne Stone
(RED BANK, NJ) -- Gallery211 presents "Inspirations from Near and Far," an exhibition which showcases the distinctive works of Lin Kossak and Katie Anne Stone. The exhibition explores the artists' deep connections with nature, mythology, and the cosmos, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience their interpretations of the world around us and beyond. It is on view from September 26 through December 13, 2024.
Katie Anne Stone draws her inspiration from the grandeur of nature, ancient mythologies, and spiritual symbolism. A Tyler School of Art, Temple University graduate with a BFA in Painting and Ceramics, Katie’s work reflects her diverse influences and her passion for the natural world. Her series “Miniature Universes” invites viewers to embark on an intimate journey through the cosmos, where the infinite phenomena of space are captured in small-scale, yet powerful, visual narratives. Her intention is to create a dialogue between the art and the viewer, where each piece is open to personal interpretation, allowing for a unique and engaging experience with every encounter.
Katie Anne Stone is an accomplished illustrator and painter who also serves as the studio manager and program director at the Creative Arts Center, Thompson Park. Her dedication to teaching a broad range of art classes to the public underscores her commitment to fostering creativity and artistic exploration within her community.
"Osprey 2" by Lin Kossak
Lin Kossak brings her vibrant and meticulously detailed avian art to the exhibition. After a successful career in pharmaceutical marketing, she rekindled her passion for colored pencils and nature. A member in the artist community at the Creative Arts Center in Thompson Park, Lincroft, NJ, Lin’s work predominantly features birds, with the occasional butterfly, fish, or feline appearing. Her art reflects her lifelong love of the natural world, translating the delicate beauty of her subjects into vivid, lifelike portraits.
Lin’s work extends beyond the canvas through her initiative, “Pencils With Purpose,” where a percentage of proceeds from her original pieces is donated to veterans and first responder causes. This initiative, born out of her commitment to giving back to the community, is an inspiration and a call to action for all who support those who serve.
The opening reception for “Inspirations from Near and Far” will be held on Thursday, September 26, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Gallery211. This event offers an excellent opportunity to meet the artists and experience their work firsthand.
