(NEWTON, NJ) -- The Artimus Pyle Band comes to The Newton Theatre on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Six Gun Sally will open the night. Showtime is 8:00pm.
The Artimus Pyle Band features Artimus Pyle, the last surviving member and drummer of the classic Lynyrd Skynyrd lineup & 2006 Rock & Roll HOF inductee with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jerry Lyda, Scott Raines, Brad Durden & Jeff Delk.
The band’s latest album, Anthems, includes classic Lynyrd Skynyrd songs featuring special guest singers. Included are Sweet Home Alabama, (featuring Ronnie Dunn from Brooks & Dunn) & Simple Man (feat Sammy Hagar), Free Bird (feat Dolly Parton) and many more.
APB is featured on Dolly Parton’s 2023 album, Rockstar. The soundtrack from 2020 film, Street Survivors: The True Story Of The Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash (Cleopatra Entertainment) features music from The Artimus Pyle Band and various artists.
Tickets range from $44-$59 and are available for purchase online starting Friday, August 23rd at 10:00am. The Newton Theatre is located at 234 Spring Street in Newton, New Jersey.
Opening act Six Gun Sally pays homage to the trendsetter bands of the 70s. The group of seven performs nearly 65 dates a year catering to audiences of all ages with a hankering for good ole southern and classic rock music (a la Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers, Molly Hatchet, Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac) and smokin' hot originals in the same vein.
The historic Newton Theatre, founded in 1924, is a beautifully restored 605 seat performing arts center in the heart of Sussex County, presenting diverse programming, including world-renowned music acts, comedians, family productions, holiday shows and much more, in an intimate setting. Iconic performers such as Todd Rundgren, Judy Collins, Lyle Lovett, Kansas, Arlo Guthrie, David Cassidy, Jon Anderson, Clint Black, The Bacon Brothers, The Bangles, and the Glen Miller Orchestra have all graced the stage.
