The Morristown Festival of Books Announces Fareed Zakaria as 2024 Keynote Speaker

originally published: 08/05/2024

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- The Morristown Festival of Books will welcome host of CNN's Fareed Zakaria GPS, journalist, and author Fareed Zakaria as its 2024 Keynote Speaker. Zakaria will discuss his New York Times best seller, Age of Revolutions: Progress and Backlash from 1600 to the Present on Friday, October 18, 2024 at the Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) in Morristown. The event begins at 7:30pm.

Fareed Zakaria is the host of CNN’s flagship international affairs show, Fareed Zakaria GPS, and is a weekly columnist for the Washington Post. He is the author of four New York Times best sellers, including Ten Lessons for a Post-Pandemic World.

How can history's revolutions help us better understand today's challenges? In his major new work, Age of Revolutions, Zakaria explores the pivotal revolutions that have shaped world history—from the economic revolution of the seventeenth-century Dutch Golden Age to the Industrial Revolution in nineteenth-century Britain and America—and examines how the current revolutions in globalization, technology, identity, and geopolitics can provide lessons to overcome all challenges.

Tickets are available at morristownbooks.org or by calling the MPAC box office at 973-539-8008. Tickets are available at two levels: $60 General Admission and $100 Festival Champion Admission. Both include a signed hardcover copy of Age of Revolutions.

The Keynote Event is generously co-sponsored by Delta Dental and the Blanche and Irving Laurie Foundation, as well as Special Event Sponsor JP Morgan Chase. This fundraiser event helps underwrite the remarkable free offerings of MFOB’s all-day Saturday Festival, which features the opportunity to interact with scores of authors.
