Friday, July 26 - PHOTOS from "Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella" at Old Library Theatre. (FAIR LAWN, NJ) -- Old Library Theatre (OLT), Fair Lawn Recreation Department's resident theatre company, is presenting Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella over two weekends, July 26 through August 4, 2024. Monday, July 29 - A Conversation with Graham Gouldman Who Performs with 10cc at NJ's Ocean City Music Pier on July 29. Friday, August 2 - Brick City Comedy Revue to Celebrate 10th Anniversary at Newark Local Beer. Sunday, August 4 - 14th Annual Axelrod Jewish International Film Festival to Take Place August 4-14. (DEAL, NJ) -- Live cinema is back! The 14th Annual Axelrod Jewish International Film Festival (AJIFF) runs from August 4-14, 2024 at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in Deal. Two films will be screened at Bell Theater at Bell Works in Holmdel as well. The nonprofit festival features 10 award-winning Israeli and Jewish international films. Friday, August 2 - The Newton Theatre presents Jim Messina. (NEWTON, NJ) -- Few musical artists résumés list membership in a band inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame; fewer still can lay claim to being a founding member of the seminal band credited with creating Country Rock; and only one artist can include all the above in addition to being one half of the most successful duos of the 1970s: Jim Messina. He's been a member of Buffalo Springfield and would go on to form the band Poco and then Loggins & Messina with Kenny Loggins.
Saturday, August 3 - The Doobie Brothers Tour to Come to Camden, Holmdel, and NYC; Steve Winwood is Supporting Act. (CAMDEN, NJ) -- Four-time GRAMMY Award winners and Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, The Doobie Brothers, have announced The 2024 Tour which will touch down in 38 U.S. cities, many of which the band has not played in several years, beginning with Seattle at the White River Amphitheatre on June 15, 2024. Locally, the tour comes to the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden on Saturday, August 3; the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel on Tuesday, August 6; and Madison Square Garden in NYC on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Steve Winwood will be on the bill for all three local dates.

Sunday, August 4 - Paterson to Host Anti-Violence Concert featuring Gospel Singer Anthony Brown. (PATERSON, NJ) -- Silk City Connections proudly presents the "Blessings on Blessings: Bounce for Antiviolence" Gospel Concert featuring Anthony J. Brown. The renowned gospel artist and songwriter will perform all of his hits on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Hinchliffe Stadium (186 Maple Street) in Paterson. Showtime is 4:00pm.
Scott Ehrenpreis Shares His Inspiring Mental Health Journey in solo show, "Clowns Like Me". (NEW YORK, NY) -- Mental illness is no laughing matter, but in the new solo show Clowns Like Me, audience members are encouraged to laugh, cry and enjoy the ride into the unknown. Clowns Like Me will have its New York Off-Broadway Premiere at the DR2 Theatre this summer. The witty, timely, and inspiring story is based on Sarasota actor and storyteller Scott Ehrenpreis’ true life struggles with mental illness and its stigmas. The play was written by Jason Cannon, who also directs. Previews begin on June 21, for a limited engagement through August 18, 2024.
Centenary Stage Company's Summer Musical Series Includes 'Grease' and 'I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change'. (HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- This summer, Centenary Stage Company presents the 2024 summer musical series featuring Grease and I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. Performances for Grease will run July 11–21 and I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change will run August 1-11 in the Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center of the Centenary University campus in Hackettstown.
NJ Rep presents the World Premiere of "The Bookstore" by Michael Walek. (LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- New Jersey Repertory Company (NJ Rep) presents the world premiere of The Bookstore by Michael Walek from July 11 through August 4, 2024. The play takes place in a small independent bookstore in New York City, like the ones we all love to frequent and are rapidly dying out. Carey, the owner, rolls up the grate, unlocks the front door, carries in boxes, turns on the heater, turns on the kettle, and turns on the lamps and her computer. And so her day begins.
Summer Heats Up at Cape May Stage with the New Jersey Professional Premiere of "Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson – Apt. 2B". (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Cape May Stage presents the New Jersey professional premiere of Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson – Apt. 2B, a fast-paced, comedic, and modern reimagining of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous sleuth and sidekick. Chatham Playhouse to Host 30th Annual Jersey Voices: One-Act Festival. (CHATHAM, NJ) -- The Chatham Community Players (CCP) will host its 30th annual Jersey Voices One-Act Festival with six performances between July 26 and August 4, 2024. This year's production will include seven original short plays written by New Jersey playwrights. The evening of seven one-act plays enables writers to showcase original scripts while allowing directors and actors to experiment with new roles.
Dover Little Theatre presents "Pterodactyls". (DOVER, NJ) -- Dover Little Theatre presents "Pterodactyls" by Nicky Silver across three weekends from July 26 to August 10, 2024. This is an absurdist black comedy about the demise of the Duncan family, and, by extension, the species.
Music Mountain Theatre presents "The King and I". (LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- Music Mountain Theatre (MMT) presents a four-weekend run of The King and I from July 26 – August 18, 2024. 13th Annual Crossing Borders Festival Preview. (RED BANK, NJ ) -- Two River Theater's highly acclaimed Crossing Borders (Cruzando Fronteras) Festival of new plays by Latine playwrights is set to run Thursday, August 1 through Sunday, August 4 in Two River's Joan and Robert M. Rechnitz Theater. In its 13th year, the festival is the theater's annual joyful celebration of the power, diversity, creativity and talent of Latine theater artists. NJ Rep to Hold Auditions for 2025 Season. Under the coordination of Rahway local, Parisse Dawkins, the Heart of the City Festival aims to shine a spotlight on the immense talent of the local Black and Brown community in the New Jersey area, with a special emphasis on Rahway creatives.
