Asbury Park Theater Company presents "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change!"

originally published: 07/04/2024

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Asbury Park Theater Company presents I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change! by Joe DiPietro from July 13-21, 2024 at the Jersey Shore Arts Center. The longest running off-Broadway revue in history has been revised for the 21st century! This celebration of the mating game takes on the truths and myths behind that contemporary conundrum known as "the relationship."

Through sketches and songs, Act I explores the journey from dating and waiting to love and marriage, while Act II reveals the agonies and triumphs of in-laws and newborns, trips in the family car and pick-up techniques of the geriatric set.

This hilarious revue pays tribute to those who have loved and lost, to those who have fallen on their face at the portal of romance, to those who have dared to ask, “Say, what are you doing Saturday night?”

The cast includes Grace Allison, Michael Buck, Emily DeMaio, Hudson Eder, Lex Friedman, Michael Kirkland, Jillian Lee, Halle Ryan Lipton, Bethany Miranda, and Jarrod Scott. This professional cast is made up entirely from local performers. They have been seen in many professional and community theater productions in the greater Asbury Park area as well as NYC and regional productions nationwide. Asbury Park Theater Company is excited to have all of these performers at APTCo. You may notice a few that have been on the APTCo stage before so to them and 1st time APTCo performers....WELCOME HOME!

The production is directed by William Whitefield with Music Direction by Michael Gilch, Choreography by Serena Sofer, Set Design by Neil Prince, Costumes/Props by Trina Colford, Lighting Design by Lyle Greene, Sound Design by Crafton Barnes, Stage Management by Jo Wymer, and produced by Bob Angelini and William Whitefield.

Small

'Small' Brings Big Energy to George Street Playhouse

When thinking about occupations kids say they want when they get older, a list comes to mind – doctor, superhero, firefighter, etc. But not many would find their passion at the horse racing track and say they want to become a jockey. In "Small," an autobiographical play written and performed by Robert "Bobby" Montano, the story follows Montano as he races and fulfills his dream on the horse racing tracks of Long Island, New York. It does not stop there, however. The 90-minute play is a story of love, loss and more as Montano grapples with some difficult life decisions.
