Four Badass Women Take On The French Revolution in "The Revolutionists" at The Theater Project (WEST ORANGE, NJ) -- The Theater Project presents The Revolutionists, a zany comedy about four women living boldly through the French Revolution, from July 11-21, 2024. Playwright Olympe De Gouge, assassin Charlotte Corday, former queen Marie Antoinette, and Haitian rebel Marianne Angelle hang out, murder Marat, lose their heads, and try to beat back the extremist insanity in revolutionary Paris.

Newark Symphony Hall's Annual Summit Highlights the Power of Black Creative Innovation with Amanda Seales (NEWARK, NJ) -- Newark Symphony Hall (NSH) presented its second annual Black Creative Economy Summit on June 24-26, 2024, providing a space for artistry, innovation, black entrepreneurship, and economic resilience. The three-day event was part of the last leg of the state's North to Shore Festival, aimed to celebrate everything that makes Jersey great - its talent, diversity and creativity, and featured renowned actress, comedian, and social advocate Amanda Seales as the keynote speaker.
Hudson County Announces Grant Winners for the County's Arts In Education Program Hudson County Executive Craig Guy and Hudson County Director of Cultural & Heritage Affairs, Tourism Development Gina Hulings announced grant winners for the 2024-2025 Arts in Education program. The program provides funds to non-profit arts organizations that will give art instruction to students in participating schools throughout the county. Programs are accessible to all students with varying degrees of learning abilities and all programs present barrier free opportunities. In total, $225,000 will be granted to 19 non-profit organizations, as well as 36 schools located in 8 municipalities across Hudson County. This project is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
