The Theater Project to Hold Annual Golf Outing on September 9th

originally published: 06/25/2024

(KENILWORTH, NJ) -- The Theater Project will hold its Annual Golf Outing on Monday, September 9, 2024 at the Galloping Hill Golf Course in Kenilworth, NJ. Participants will enjoy an exciting round of golf with breakfast and lunch providing opportunities to relax and socialize.

"The Theater Project plays a critical role in uplifting the voices of rising playwrights and actors all across our state," said Senator Joe Cryan (D-Union). "Dramatic arts are an often-overlooked form of expression, and I'm happy to support this organization and the impactful work they do every day by serving as Honorary Chair for their golf outing."

The golf outing raises money for The Theater Project’s many programs serving adults and young people in north and central NJ, including its classes and showcases for high school playwrights and productions of new plays by local authors.

"We offer opportunities for rising actors and emerging playwrights of all ages,” said director Mark Spina. “At the same time, we offer audiences ways to engage in the development of new work and new careers.”

$200 per golfer or $800 per foursome includes cart, green fees, breakfast and lunch. Check in / breakfast at 8:00am, with a Modified Shotgun start 9:00am. Lunch to follow. Click here to register.

The Theater Project was founded in 1994. Under the leadership of Mark Spina, Artistic Director, they have provided well-rounded programs on a relatively small budget to audiences who relish and seek out stimulating, new theater. Providing a forum to express ideas that spark the imagination, and challenge the mind is what they strive to do. Encouraging their audiences to think beyond the status quo and elevate the discourses around important contemporary issues is germane to their purpose. Most importantly, their audience is willing to take a chance on a title or author they have never encountered before, knowing they will be engaged, challenged and entertained.

Theater Project actor Gary Glor (left) attends each year's event with his brothers Chris, Tim, and Bruce flying in from Florida, Buffalo, and Indiana to play as a foursome.
