Deniece Johnson and Linda McRae enjoy annual Sundaes on the Veranda at Trenton City Museum

(TRENTON, NJ) -- Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie will serve up its annual Sundaes on the Veranda Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. In addition to all the classic toppings at this family-friendly ice cream social, attendees can choose a unique, artisan-made ceramic bowl to take home. New this year, sundaes are free for children aged 6 and under who are accompanied by a paid adult; $20 for a sundae in a handmade ceramic bow; $10 for a sundae in a disposable bowl. Admission can bed reserve in advance at ellarsie.org/sundaes/ or paid at the door.

While at Sundaes on the Veranda, attendees who step inside the museum will be dazzled by the last day of the exhibition Space & Clutter, curated by Janis Purcell, and featuring the detailed works of Jackie Lima, David Z. Orban, and Paul Smith.

Located in Trenton’s lush, historic Cadwalader Park, Trenton City Museum is accessible by car from Parkside Ave. and has ample parking alongside the museum. It is open Fridays and Saturdays, Noon to 4:00pm, and Sundays, 1:00pm to 4:00pm. While there is no admission charge, donations in support of the museum’s mission and programs are appreciated.

The Trenton City Museum is housed in Ellarslie Mansion, an 1848 Italianate Villa on the National Historic Register, located in the heart of Trenton’s Cadwalader Park. The historic and popular park was designed by the legendary Frederick Law Olmsted, born in 1822, famed for designing such landmarks as New York City’s Central Park. The museum showcases exhibitions of contemporary fine art along with ongoing and changing history displays that explore Trenton’s rich industrial and cultural past. It also hosts many community events such as Sundaes on the Veranda and runs a busy education program for all ages. The Trenton Museum Society works with the City of Trenton to support the museum’s operations and programming and in 2023 celebrated the 50th anniversary of its founding.
