(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The Asbury Park Music Foundation has announced the lineup for the Asbury Park LIVE free summer concert series, now in its 8th year. The 10-week series brings live music to the boardwalk and, with the support of sponsors, raises funds to provide music scholarships to under-served youth throughout the Asbury Park area. This year-round music program is designed to not only provide music proficiency, but also build self-esteem and life skills that improve grades and future economic success.
The Asbury Park Live series features 20 fan favorites and emerging local performers playing original pop, rock, hip hop, soul and funk music at the First Avenue Green located next to Watermark and MOGO Korean Fusion Tacos.
The series is presented by the Asbury Park Music Foundation in partnership with MOGO Korean Fusion Tacos, Watermark, and Lakehouse Music Academy. Sponsor support comes from Pepsi, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Ansell Grimm & Aaron, Lakeland Bank, TDK, Asbury Park Brewery, Asbury Sunset, Stone Pony Summer Stage, and Wild Air Beerworks.
The weekly shows run from 7:00pm to 10:00pm, primarily Wednesday evenings with some exceptions when the Stone Pony Summer Stage has events. These outdoor shows are free to the public. In the event of rain, the shows move inside to Watermark’s stage. Each show opens with one of the youth bands from Lakehouse Music Academy, many of which feature scholarship students supported by the Asbury Park Music Foundation.
The first set each night takes place from 8:00pm - 8:50pm and the second set from 9:10pm - 10:00pm.
