Oyster Point Hotel hosts free panel discussion: What Are Curators Looking For?

originally published: 06/17/2024

(RED BANK, NJ) -- Learn more about the curator/gallery owner-artist relationship from the gallery owner's point of view. Find out what gallery owners and curators look for when they put together exhibits. How and when should you approach them? All artists are invited to this free panel discussion, which will be hosted by Ellen Martin, on Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at The Oyster Point Hotel where Martin has served as Curator since 2017. She will be joined by Robert P. Langdon.

Robert P. Langdon is the proprietor of Emerge Gallery, which was based in Saugerties, NY, from 2016 - 2023 but is now virtual. He is the Programming Director for the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild and an advisor for ShoutOut, a community-based nonprofit that advances the arts in Saugerties and surrounding communities. Robert is a former board member of Arts MidHudson, the Saugerties Arts Commission, and the Saugerties Chamber of Commerce.

Robert has worn many hats over the years, including managing a community-based art gallery that provided vocational training for adults with traumatic brain injuries, serving as director of Sales and Marketing at a nonprofit bilingual children’s book publishing house, and managing accounts for the US library market, where he secured national placement of books for 120 client publishers.

All artists are welcome to this free event. Please arrive a little early or on time.

The Oyster Point Hotel is located at 146 Bodman Place in Red Bank, New Jersey.
