Brundage Park Playhouse presents Disney's 'The Little Mermaid' in July

originally published: 06/13/2024

(RANDOLPH, NJ) -- Brundage Park Playhouse presents Disney's The Little Mermaid across two weekends (July 19-21 and July 26-28). This is a stage musical produced by Disney Theatrical, based on the animated 1989 Disney film of the same name and the classic story by Hans Christian Andersen about a mermaid who dreams of the world above the sea and gives up her voice to find true love. It features a Book by Doug Wright; Music by Alan Menken; and Lyrics by Howard Ashman & Glen Slater.

Ariel should be a happy mermaid — she lives in an enchanted undersea country, her father is a King, and she has the most beautiful singing voice. But she is a passionate, headstrong teenager, and wants what she cannot have — to live on land. When she falls in love with a handsome human prince, Ariel is more determined than ever to gain a pair of legs. But her only option is to defy her furious father, and bargain with Ursula the Sea Witch, giving her voice as the price of entry onto dry land.

With the help of Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull, and officious court composer Sebastian the crab, Ariel must wordlessly gain Prince Eric’s love within three days — or lose her soul to the ambitious witch!

Performances take place Friday July 19 and July 26 at 7:00pm; Saturday July 20 and July 27 at 2:00pm; and Sunday July 21 and July 28 at 3:00pm. Online ticket prices are $20 for children under 12, seniors 62 years and above and military personnel with ID.  All other online tickets are $25.  Please note: a $2 handling fee will be added to tickets purchased at the box office. Tickets are available for purchase online.

The production is Directed/ Choreographed by Jeorgi Smith; Music Director Sean Johnson; and Assistant Director Chrystina Kepreos.

Small

'Small' Brings Big Energy to George Street Playhouse

When thinking about occupations kids say they want when they get older, a list comes to mind – doctor, superhero, firefighter, etc. But not many would find their passion at the horse racing track and say they want to become a jockey. In "Small," an autobiographical play written and performed by Robert "Bobby" Montano, the story follows Montano as he races and fulfills his dream on the horse racing tracks of Long Island, New York. It does not stop there, however. The 90-minute play is a story of love, loss and more as Montano grapples with some difficult life decisions.
