Green Hill Music Re-releases "Jersey Babys: The Instrumental Music of Frankie Valli & The 4 Seasons For Kids"

originally published: 05/31/2024

(NASHVILLE, TN) -- Green Hill Music has announced the re-release of the beloved album Jersey Babys: The Instrumental Music of Frankie Valli & The 4 Seasons For Kids, featuring two new versions of "Beggin'."

Jersey Babys was originally released sixteen years ago when Danielle convinced her father, Bob Gaudio, prolific songwriter and founding member of the Four Seasons, to create new instrumental arrangements of his legendary songs.

As executive producer of the project, Danielle brought her brother Shannon on board to create a cover that would attract listeners of all ages. Jersey Babys became a family affair.

"I love the music, and I’ve lived it since the day I was born in 1966, the year when my Dad and Bob Crewe wrote ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You’," shares Danielle. “My Dad created a musical playground for young listeners and the young at heart. Working on this project with my Dad was very special. His music is timeless and inspirational. I persisted for years until he finally said yes.”

“The title came naturally,” she says. “After all, I’m a Jersey Baby myself."

She is thrilled that Jersey Babys is being re-released just in time for Father’s Day.

The Jersey Babys CD is dedicated to their mother, Brit Irene Olsen, with liner notes that read: “You are never forgotten and your love is always with us, Your three Jersey Babys, Lisa, Danielle & Shannon”

Bob worked with Robby Robinson, Frankie Valli's musical supervisor of forty-six years, to create new instrumental arrangements suitable for all ears.

Next year marks the 20-year anniversary of the smash hit musical Jersey Boys. Fans everywhere will be celebrating this milestone, with a live Jersey Boys film release featuring Nick Jonas as Frankie Valli coming soon. Jersey Boys is currently playing in Las Vegas and regional productions are playing all over the country. A U.S. Tour is opening in 2025. Jersey Boys has been seen by more than 18 million people around the globe. It is the 15th longest running shown on Broadway.

Bob Gaudio and Frankie Valli have remained partners for over sixty years on a handshake. The album comes at an exciting time as Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons recently received a star on the Hollywood walk of Fame.

Thanks to the phenomenal success of Jersey Boys and current artists like Maneskin and Surf Mesa releasing new covers of the Four Seasons’ timeless hits, more people of all ages are listening to “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don't Cry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Can't Take My Eyes Off of You,” and “Beggin.’"

Jersey Babys offers a delightful journey through the Four Seasons’ iconic music catalog, featuring instrumental renditions of classics like "December 1963 (Oh, What A Night)," "Sherry/Walk Like A Man," and "Can't Take My Eyes Off You.”

The re-release includes two brand new versions of the hit song "Beggin'," inspired by the global success of the Maneskin cover.

“What a perfect way to continue the legacy of these timeless tracks that are adored by so many and can now be shared by a whole new audience and generation,” says Blake Davis, GM of Green Hill.

Jersey Boys shows no signs of slowing down, nor does Frankie, who just turned 90 this year.

“We are excited to bring Four Seasons fans these sparkling new arrangements and new way to enjoy these iconic tracks,” says Danielle.

Jersey Babys: The Instrumental Music of Frankie Valli & The 4 Seasons For Kids is currently available digitally, with a physical release to follow in June.

Lucrecia Pays Homage to Former Bergen County Resident and Reigning Queen of Salsa, Celia Cruz

"Life is a carnival! It's much more beautiful to live it singing." If you're unfamiliar with my life's mantra, perhaps you’d recognize it if I were instead to say "la vida es un carnaval, es más bello vivir cantando." Now put a salsa beat under it and add the iconic voice of the Queen herself, Celia Cruz. Sound familiar? One would hope.
