Playhouse 22 presents "Steel Magnolias"
 

(EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Playhouse 22 presents "Steel Magnolias" by Robert Harling, weekends from April 12-28, 2024. Better-known by the film with the same name, the play is a comedy-drama set in rural Louisiana about a group of gossipy women who are concerned about relationships with their families, loved ones, people in the community and most importantly themselves. The production is directed by directed by Ken Webb

Westminster Conservatory at Nassau to present music for flute, oboe and piano featuring Trio Brillante
 

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Westminster Conservatory at Nassau will present a recital featuring the ensemble Trio Brillante on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 12:15pm. The recital will take place in the Niles Chapel of Nassau Presbyterian Church (61 Nassau Street) in Princeton. It is open to the public free of charge.

 



Axelrod PAC presents The Joni Project and Magical Mystery Doors
 

(DEAL PARK, NJ) -- Axelrod Performing Arts Center has a pair of great shows coming up in April. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the release of Joni Mitchell's 1974 album Court and Spark, The Joni Project will perform the album in its entirety, along with a selection of other Joni favorites, on Saturday, April 20 at 8:00pm. The following week, Magical Mystery Doors will perform classics from The Beatles, The Doors and Led Zeppelin on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 8:00pm.

Locally, the tour comes to the Prudential Center in Newark on Friday, August 9, 2024.

RVCC to Present Student, Faculty Dance Performances
 

(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- Raritan Valley Community College's (RVCC) Arts & Design department will present DanceWorks, an evening of student and faculty dance performances, April 25-26, 2024 at 7:00pm. The event will be held in the Edward Nash Theatre at the College's Branchburg campus. Loretta Fois, Director of RVCC's dance program, will produce the concert.

Mercer County Selects Artworks to Install Community-Themed Public Mural on Cass Street
 

(TRENTON, NJ) -- Mercer County and the Mercer County Division of Culture & Heritage (MCDC&H) announced that Artworks, the Trenton-based visual arts center, has been selected to design and install a public mural. The mural to-come, entitled "Breaking Barriers", will visualize the power art has to connect a community.

Lisa Butler to Join Visual Arts Center of New Jersey as Director of Development & Communications
 

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey (VACNJ) has announced the hiring of Lisa Butler as its new Director of Development & Communications, effective April 15. Butler will join the staff of VACNJ after serving as an Art Center trustee from 2014 to 2022. During her time on VACNJ' s Board, she served in a number of capacities, including as Board Chair and as a member of the Development Committee.

 



Registration Open for Mayo Performing Arts Center Summer 2024 Performing Arts School
 

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Registration for Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC)'s Summer Performing Arts Classes has begun. This is a series of week-long and two-week long sessions will be held throughout June, July and August.
