Arts Ed NJ presents Inaugural Youth Arts Ed Summit Virtual Event

(BURLINGTON, NJ) -- Arts Ed NJ is proud to announce its inaugural Youth Arts Ed Summit, a groundbreaking virtual event set to take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 10:00am to 3:00pm. This summit marks a significant milestone for Arts Ed NJ in the advocacy and promotion of arts education among high school-aged youth across the state of New Jersey.

The Youth Arts Ed Summit promises an engaging and informative experience, featuring panel discussions and workshops on a variety of topics crucial to the future of arts education. Participants will have the opportunity to delve into discussions on Careers in the Arts, Mental Health and the Arts, Art for Social Justice and Awareness, STEAM and Arts Integration, and Arts Education Advocacy. Additionally, attendees can look forward to exciting giveaways and surprises throughout the day.

"This summit isn't just about discussions; it's a platform for you to learn, grow, and make a difference," says Wendy Liscow, Executive Director of Arts Ed NJ. "Be a part of shaping the future of arts education in our state by connecting with peers who share your passion, engaging with professionals in various arts fields, and gaining valuable insights into topics such as arts' impact on mental health, pathways to successful careers in the arts, and most importantly, empowering yourself to speak up on the issues that matter most to you in shaping the future of arts education in New Jersey."

The Youth Arts Ed Summit is open to all high school-aged youth in the state of New Jersey and will be held virtually via Zoom with FREE admission. Click here to register for the summit.

A major component of Arts Ed NJ’s work is the Arts Ed Now campaign which offers customizable grassroot tools to increase participation in arts education at a local level and garners public support to ensure every NJ child receives the quality arts education mandated by the state. Arts Ed NJ’s Arts Education and Social Emotional Learning Center supports the advancement of practices that are healing centered, culturally responsive, and grounded in the best practices offered by our social emotional learning framework.

(TRENTON, NJ) -- The life and loves of noted area 19th century beauty Annette Savage will be the topic of a talk Saturday, February 9, 2025 at Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie. Titled "Le Jeu de l'Amour," the program, led by journalist and writer Dan Aubrey, will explore how Napoleon’s brother and former King of Spain, Joseph Bonaparte, and his American mistress, Annette Savage, found passion and pain in the Trenton and Bordentown region of New Jersey. The event runs from from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Cape May's Poet Laureate Sylvia Baer hosts three 1.5-hour interactive online seminars via Zoom this March that delve into American literature of the Victorian age. "The Concord Gang" on Monday, March 10, 2025 highlights Emerson, Thoreau and Alcott. "The Amherst Gang" on Monday, March 17, 2025 features Emily Dickinson and Helen Hunt Jackson.
