The Newton Theatre presents a Screening of "Trolls: Band Together" to Benefit Autism New Jersey

originally published: 03/20/2024

(NEWTON, NJ) -- Bring the whole family for a sensory-friendly movie matinee at The Newton Theatre on Sunday, April 21, 2024 featuring the hit favorite Trolls - Band Together. The special event is in support of World Autism Awareness Month and proceeds will benefit Autism New Jersey. Doors are at 2:00pm, showtime is 3:00pm.

After two films of true friendship and relentless flirting, Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake) are now officially a couple!  As they grow closer, Poppy discovers that Branch has a secret past. He was once part of her favorite boyband, BroZone, with his four brothers: Floyd (Troye Sivan), John Dory (Eric André), Spruce (Daveed Diggs), and Clay (Kid Cudi). BroZone disbanded when Branch was still a baby, as did the family, and Branch hasn't seen his brothers since.

But when Branch's bro Floyd is kidnapped for his musical talents by a pair of nefarious pop-star villains - Velvet (Amy Schumer) and Veneer (Andrew Rannells) - Branch and Poppy embark on a harrowing and emotional journey to reunite the other brothers and rescue Floyd from a fate even worse than pop-culture obscurity.

Tickets are $10 and available for purchase online. The Newton Theatre is located at 234 Spring Street in Newton, New Jersey.

Pre-show activities include face painting, wonderful door prizes from local businesses, as well as various local vendors onsite including New Jersey YMCA and more to be announced.
