CDC Theatre Seeks Directors for 2024-25 Season (CRANFORD, NJ) -- CDC Theatre has announced its 2024-25 season and is accepting submissions from potential directors. The season includes their annual Hispanic Play Festival (June 2024), Angels in America (October 2024), Disney's Beauty and the Beast (December 2024), Jesus Christ Superstar (February 2025), and Legally Blonde, the Musical (May 2025). Submissions must be received by email or by physical mail by March 11, 2024.

McCarter Theatre presents "Dreamgirls" (PRINCETON, NJ) -- This March, the McCarter Theatre Center, in a partnership with Goodspeed Musicals, presents the revival of the Tony® and Grammy® award-winning musical, Dreamgirls. Coming to Princeton after an acclaimed and blockbuster run in Connecticut, the production features talent that has illuminated stages from Broadway to national tours and graced airwaves on platforms like American Idol. Dreamgirls will take place at McCarter's Matthews Theatre from March 6-24, 2024.

Penn Live Arts presents Alarm Will Sound (PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- Penn Live Arts (PLA) – the leading presenter of innovative and transformative performing arts experiences in Philadelphia – presents Alarm Will Sound on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. Described as being "as close to being a rock band as a chamber orchestra can be," by The New York Times, Alarm Will Sound performs music by Steve Reich in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Music for 18 Musicians. The program also includes Clapping Music, which uses hands as the sole instrument, Vermont Counterpoint, and Radio Rewrite, inspired by the music of Radiohead and given its premiere recording by Alarm Will Sound in 2016. Showtime is 7:00pm.
The Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music Announces the Inaugural Gospel and Praise Team Sing-Off (WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- The Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music will produce a gospel music competition called Move on Up aimed at celebrating gospel choirs and praise teams, and presenting prize money to the winning ensembles. Church and community choirs and praise teams from Asbury Park and Newark can submit representative music to a team of judges who will then select six entries to participate in a "sing-off" to determine the winner. Video submissions will begin on March 1 and ends at 6:00pm on April 1, 2024.

New Jersey Poetry Out Loud Announces 2024 State Finalists (RED BANK, NJ) -- Following New Jersey's 2024 Poetry Out Loud Regional Competitions, twelve finalists will vie for this year's title of New Jersey State Champion at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank. Regional competitions took place in early February at Appel Farm Arts & Music Center, Grunin Center for the Arts at Ocean County College, Mayo Performing Arts Center, Passaic County Community College, Rutgers-Camden Center for the Arts, and South Orange Performing Arts Center.

Arts Council of Princeton presents Story & Verse on March 21st (PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Arts Council of Princeton (ACP) will continue their monthly Story & Verse Open Mic every third Thursday at the Paul Robeson Center for the Arts.
