Bergen County Players presents "The Fantasticks" (ORADELL, NJ) -- Bergen County Players (BCP), one of America's longest-running little theater companies, continues its 92nd season with the longest-running musical classic, The Fantasticks. Full of buoyant humor, charming tunes, and a sprinkle of magic, The Fantasticks has been hailed as "a beautiful, poetic, and highly theatrical tale of the power and depth of love — gained, lost and found again" (Broadway World). Black Box Studios' Summer Rock Musical Theater Intensive Returns For 2024 (TEANECK, NJ) -- For the first time since before the pandemic, Black Box Studios' popular Summer Rock Musical Theater Intensive returns to Teaneck at Debonair Music Hall for teens entering grades 6 through 12. With limited spots available, the Rock Musical Theater Intensive '24 runs June 24 through July 19, Mondays through Fridays during the day, and the program culminates with two evening shows accompanied by a live rock band.

Atlantic City Arts Foundation's 100th Mural to be Painted by Renowned Muralist Mona Caron (ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- The Atlantic City Arts Foundation, along with presenting sponsor ThriveAC Fund and partner Create 48, announced renowned Swiss-American artist Mona Caron will paint the largest mural in Atlantic City, commencing in April 2024. Located at The Atlantic, the 19-story mural will be the organization's 100th mural, and become the largest mural in the city. Part of Caron's WEEDS project, the mural will incorporate flora native to Atlantic City, narrating themes of resilience, renewal, and perseverance.
New York Times Photojournalist Michelle V. Agins Makes Museum Debut at the Zimmerli (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist Michelle V. Agins, whose images tell unforgettable stories about life in America, was the second Black woman ever hired as a staff photographer at The New York Times. U.S. Economic Development Administration Names Newark as Competition Finalist for Federal 'Recompete' Grant (NEWARK, NJ) -- On February 26, 2024, Mayor Ras J. Baraka announced that the City of Newark is one of 22 finalists, culled from a pool of 560 applicants, to now further detail its proposal for a federal grant under the Distressed Area Recompete Pilot Program (Recompete). Called "Newark Builds Newark," the city's project would create a skilled workforce trained to build the city itself, as well as its economic strength.
