Black Box to present Staged Reading of "Life After Warsaw: The World of Isaac Bashevis Singer" (TEANECK, NJ) -- Local playwright and author I.M. A Philly Special Christmas Special Raises over $3 Million for Charities (PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- Philadelphia Eagles' players Jason Kelce, Lane Johnson, and Jordan Mailata, aka The Philly Specials, have donated over $3 million from selling their limited edition holiday vinyl, A Philly Special Christmas Special (Vera Y Records). Recipients include Children’s Crisis Treatment Center's toy drive and summer camp, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's Snowflake Station, Philabundance, Ronald McDonald House, Feed America, Toys for Tots, and the Fresh Air Fund, amongst others. In addition to the initial commitment to CCTC and CHOP, each musician who participated in the project selected organizations to receive donations.

Fanwood Songwriter Eric Harrison invites Jersey Rockers to "Sal's Place" "Don't you wanna go where everybody knows your name?" asks Fanwood-based singer-songwriter Eric Harrison in rolling out "Sal's Place," his first new single of 2024. Featuring lead guitar from Gordon Brown of Asbury Park veterans Williams Honor and Harrison's two Jersey girl daughters on background vocals, "Sal's Place" celebrates what the singer calls "my fellow JROCAs (Jersey Rockers of a Certain Age)" who can't help but envision a victory around the corner.

Philadelphia Artist's New Exhibit Focuses on History of Atlantic City Neighborhood (ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- Janice Merendino's new exhibit at the Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University started with a simple question: Who's now living in my grandmother's house? That question has led to the creation of "Ducktown: An Atlantic City Immigration Story" celebrating the neighborhood through the stories of past and present immigrants. The exhibit opened January 10th and continues until March 31.
Montclair Art Museum presents "Century: 100 Years of Black Art at MAM" (MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- The Montclair Art Museum (MAM) presents its landmark exhibition, Century: 100 Years of Black Art at MAM from February 9 to June 23, 2024. With over 70 works in various mediums by 59 ground breaking artists, Century is the largest and most comprehensive show of its kind at MAM, underscoring a longtime commitment since the 1940s to the curation and appreciation of artworks by Black artists. Curated by Adrienne L. Childs and nico w.okoro, Century is complemented by a fully illustrated catalogue featuring multiple essays that offer insightful explorations of the rich historical and cultural context of Black art. The exhibition has been coordinated at MAM by Chief Curator Gail Stavitsky.
