Music Mountain Theatre presents "Lend Me a Tenor"

originally published: 01/08/2024

(LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- Music Mountain Theatre opens their 2024 season with the Tony award winning comedy, Lend Me a Tenor, weekends from January 12-28, 2024. The play is set in September of 1934 and we see the Cleveland Grand Opera Company's gala season opener, centered on world-famous tenor Tito Morelli, performing as Canio in "Pagliacci," his greatest role. But the opera is jeopardized when Morelli falls into a drunken stupor.

In a panic, the opera company’s diminutive assistant grabs a costume and make-up, pretends to be the famous Morelli, and goes on as Canio. The masquerade works until Morelli awakens and the chaos of mistaken identities ensues, involving two clowns, a volatile Italian wife, an outrageous bellhop, a cynical impresario, and two lingerie-clad ladies trying to seduce the tenor.

The cast includes Lauren Brader, Rhett Commodaro, Michael Gearty, Jaimie Geddes, Joan Hoffman, Madison Kotnarowski, David McCloughan, Jr., and Tristan Takacs.

A sensation on Broadway and in London's West End, winning 3 Tony and 4 Drama Desk awards, this madcap, screwball comedy is guaranteed to leave audiences teary-eyed with laughter.

Performances run weekends from January 12-28, 2024 with performances Fridays at 8:00pm, Saturdays at 3:00pm & 8:00pm, and Sundays at 3:00pm. Tickets are $32 for adults and $30 for students/seniors/military. Small

'Small' Brings Big Energy to George Street Playhouse

When thinking about occupations kids say they want when they get older, a list comes to mind – doctor, superhero, firefighter, etc. But not many would find their passion at the horse racing track and say they want to become a jockey. In "Small," an autobiographical play written and performed by Robert "Bobby" Montano, the story follows Montano as he races and fulfills his dream on the horse racing tracks of Long Island, New York. It does not stop there, however. The 90-minute play is a story of love, loss and more as Montano grapples with some difficult life decisions.
