Friday, January 5 - State Theatre New Jersey presents "Come From Away". (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents the Broadway musical, Come From Away from January 5-7, 2024. This musical tells the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships. On September 11, 2001, the world stopped. On September 12, their stories moved us all.

Saturday, January 6 MPAC presents Reza: Edge of Illusion. (MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Don't expect rabbits out of hats! Reza has taken the art of illusion to a new level, delivering his rock concert style magic show to audiences across the globe. Reza: Edge of Illusion comes to Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) for two performances on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 3:00pm & 8:00pm. Tickets range from $29-$49.

Saturday, January 6 - The Flip Side: Improv at Madison Community Arts Center. (MADISON, NJ) -- The Flip Side, the house improv team of Vivid Stage, will perform at the Madison Community Arts Center on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 8:00pm. The Flip Side features Brad Barton, Laura Ekstrand, Noreen Farley, Lulu French, Gary Mahmoud, Dave Maulbeck, Becca McLarty, Emaline Williams and Zachary Zawila. This unpredictable evening is an affordable, enjoyable evening that is packed with laughs from start to finish.

Saturday, January 6 - The Levoy Theatre presents Van Halen Nation. (MILLVILLE, NJ) -- The Levoy Theatre presents Van Halen Nation on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 8:00pm. This is the premier 80s Van Halen tribute to the David Lee Roth era of VH.

Sunday, January 7 - A Tribute to Three Vocal Legends at January Jersey Jazz LIVE! Concert in Madison. (MADISON, NJ) -- In the 1970s and '80s, pianist/vocalist/composer Bob Dorough was Music Director of Schoolhouse Rock!, a three-minute vignette aired by ABC Television as part of its Saturday morning cartoons. Dorough wrote songs about mathematics, grammar, history, and civics with titles such as "My Hero Zero", "Three is a Magic Number", "Conjunction Junction", and "Sufferin' Til Suffrage".

THEATRE

In Death's Company presents "Half Moon" at Kelsey Theatre. (WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- Mercer County Community College's (MCCC) Kelsey Theatre and In Death's Company kick off 2024 with the thought-provoking and emotionally charged production of "Half Moon," from January 5-7, 2024 at the Kelsey Theatre on MCCC's West Windsor Campus.

Friday, January 5 - Bananas Comedy Club presents Josh Johnson. (RUTHERFORD, NJ) -- Josh Johnson will perform three shows at at Bananas Comedy Club - Friday, January 5, 2024 at 8:00pm; and Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 7:30pm & 10:00pm. Josh is an Emmy-nominated writer, stand-up, actor, and NAACP award-winner from Louisiana by way of Chicago. He is currently a writer on The Daily Show, and is a former writer and performer on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he made his late-night debut in 2017.

Saturday, January 6 - The ShowRoom to Offer Special Screening of "I, Tonya". (ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Before she was Barbie, she was Tonya... Before there was chaos at The Capitol, January 6th captivated the country as the day figure skater Nancy Kerrigan was knee-capped at the Cobo Arena in Detroit in 1994. Come commemorate this controversial occasion at The Show Room on its 30th anniversary with a special one night only screening of the 2017 hit I, Tonya on January 6, 2024 at 7:30pm. Starring Margot Robbie, Sebastian Stan, and Academy Award-winning best supporting actress, Allison Janey.

Friday, January 5 - Ocean County Library Manchester Branch presents "Movement Music & Memories". (MANCHESTER, NJ) -- People living with Alzheimer's and other dementias, their caregivers and families are invited to hear details of an innovative quality-of-life enhancement program. An information session for "Movement Music & Memories" will be offered at the Ocean County Library Manchester Branch on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm.

Dan Aubrey to give a talk on Joseph Bonaparte at Trenton City Museum

(TRENTON, NJ) -- The life and loves of noted area 19th century beauty Annette Savage will be the topic of a talk Saturday, February 9, 2025 at Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie. Titled "Le Jeu de l'Amour," the program, led by journalist and writer Dan Aubrey, will explore how Napoleon’s brother and former King of Spain, Joseph Bonaparte, and his American mistress, Annette Savage, found passion and pain in the Trenton and Bordentown region of New Jersey. The event runs from from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

Monmouth County Park System to Hold Annual E. Murray Todd Half Marathon on March 9th

(LINCROFT, NJ) -- The Monmouth County Park System will hold its annual E. Murray Todd Half Marathon on Sunday, March 9, 2025. This 13.1-mile race takes runners through Lincroft, Holmdel and Colts Neck.

Exploring American Literature of the 1800s with Cape May Poet Laureate Sylvia Baer

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Cape May's Poet Laureate Sylvia Baer hosts three 1.5-hour interactive online seminars via Zoom this March that delve into American literature of the Victorian age. "The Concord Gang" on Monday, March 10, 2025 highlights Emerson, Thoreau and Alcott. "The Amherst Gang" on Monday, March 17, 2025 features Emily Dickinson and Helen Hunt Jackson. "The Fear Gang" on Monday, March 24, 2025 delves into Hawthorne, Poe and Melville.

Steampunk Alchemy Fest presents the Clockwork Cupid Burlesque Cabaret

(NEW HOPE, PA) -- Steampunk is coming to New Hope and taking over Dharma Bums Bar with the Clockwork Cupid Burlesque Cabaret presented by Steampunk Alchemy Fest on Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 8:00pm to 11:00pm.
