(BEACH HAVEN, NJ) -- Surflight Theatre is currently presenting the laugh-out-loud, 90-minute, gender-bending, quick-changing play, Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors from October 6-15, 2023.  It's the perfect play to help get you into the Halloween spirit.  Photographer John Posada was on hand to take photos.

Ever wonder what would happen if you took Bram Stoker’s legendary vampire tale and put it into a blender with the comedic influences of Mel Brooks, Monty Python and the 39 Steps? That’s just what happens in this lightning fast, laugh-out-loud, 90-minute gender-bending, quick change magical romp. The vampire antics, complete with loads of local and pop references, brim with enough mayhem to fill your cup of giggles.

The cast includes David Edwards (Most recently seen as Max Goldman in Surflight’s Grumpy Old Men: The Musical) as Harker/Suiters/Bosun/Gravedigger, Dan Fenaughty (Favorite Surflight credits: Baskerville and ’Tis the Season) as Dracula, Larissa Klinger (Most recently seen as Melanie Norton in Surflight’s Grumpy Old Men: The Musical and Jackie in Disaster!) as Lucy/Kitty/Driver, Alison Nusbaum (Most recently seen as Sandra Snyder in Surflight’s Grumpy Old Men: The Musical and Sister Mary Downy in Disaster!) as Mina/Van Helsing, and David Sitler (Most recently seen as Grandpa Gustafson in Surflight’s Grumpy Old Men: The Musical) as Dr. Westfield/Renfield/Captain.

Remaining performances take place October 11-12 at 2:00pm; October 13-14 at 7:30pm; and October 15 at 2:00pm.  Tickets: Adults/Seniors- $43; Children 12 and Under- $33. Tickets are available for purchase online or by calling (609)492-9477.

Tobias Shaw is the director of this production. Shaw is delighted to return to Surflight Theater after directing The 39 Steps in 2018. He has worked as an actor and director at more than a dozen touring, New York City, and regional companies. Over the last decade he has turned his focus primarily to photography and is a co-founder of the film production company Cura Creative.
