Cape May Stage presents "The Garbologists"

originally published: 09/13/2023

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Cape May Stage presents The Garbologists by Lindsay Joelle from September 13 to October 22, 2023. Directed by Roy Steinberg, this is an unconventional buddy comedy play that follows two sanitation workers in the cab of a New York City garbage truck. Tasked with picking up what the world has discarded, they learn there’s more that binds them than just picking up the trash.

Featuring professional Equity actors Michael Basile as Danny and Serena Ebony Miller as Marlowe, The Garbologists is titled for the archeological study of garbage, and its trash collecting characters deliver a wonderful mix of laughter, tears, and insight into human nature.

The Garbologists is the perfect play to include in our 2023 season showcasing stories that focus on how important people are in our lives,” says Roy Steinberg, Cape May Stage’s Producing Artistic Director. “It is funny, poignant and celebrates how we can all learn to live with each other no matter our differences, be that in education, race, gender or even trivial things like food preferences!”

The Garbologists runs from September 13 to October 22, 2023 with performances Wednesday through Saturday nights at 7:00pm, and Sunday at 3:00pm. Tickets for "The Garbologists" are now available for purchase online or by calling the box office at 609-770-8311.

Cape May Stage performances take place at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse (405 Lafayette Street) in Cape May, New Jersey.
